Buda residents: it looks like there’s City requirements for new fences or if relocating a fence. Also no chainlink in most cases
Residential fencing standards are established in the City of Buda Unified Development Code § 2.09.02E. The points below highlight several requirements outlined in the ordinance:
• Get a permit before building a new fence or relocating an old one. Replacing an existing fence does not require a permit.
• Fences may not exceed 6 feet in height. (Please note that we are not requiring residents to remove existing non-compliant fencing, but any future fence replacement must meet the current maximum height standard of 6 feet.)
• Use only wood, masonry, precast concrete, vinyl, or wrought iron for fences. Chain link is only permitted on a property’s side or rear fence that does not face a public roadway.
• Fences must be 3 ft away from the edge of driveways or accessways.
