While most of the world is glued to the World Cup, for me we are at Marching season! Lightning quick trip to San Antonio for the DCI southwestern championship. Saw and shot a lot of great performances. These don’t even scratch the surface of the terabyte worth of photos I made. Good thing hard drives are so cheap……… 👀🙄 Looking forward to Championships in a few weeks. Thank you Drum Corps International for having me out!

While everyone else is still recapping the Indy 500 I’m going to go back a week to the passing of NASCAR legend . Back in 2010 he won the, at the time, 200 at . The short version of this story is that I was working for at the time and was there for expressly this photo to run as a full page on the back of the A section. None of the rest of the photos mattered. It was just a different time back then I guess. I went and shot a ton of stuff anyway. It was a great race and I learned a lot about nighttime race photography that night.

I wasn’t a racing fan back then. Nor am I big one now, but even back then I knew who Kyle Busch was. The things he did and accomplished in racing will be talked about for a long time to come. May he rest in peace.

20 frames are in no way enough to cover the 2.75 terabytes of media I made for the during season 2. Unfortunately I’ve been working on doing more doing and doing less social media-ing which is tough since I could easily do a post of 20 frames from just walk in fit photos, and her antics, between set games or even just celebrity sightings. Alas, decisions had to be made and in order to keep doing more and social media ing less here are 20 frames from the season 2.

The season didn’t end the way anybody wanted down at the playoffs but it’s an incredible group of athletes that have been assembled here and I can’t wait to see what their future holds. Thank you again so much for having me . Enjoy some off season because it’ll be time to get started again before you know it!

Still playing catchup but things are getting better! Right on the tail of the Big Ten tournament was the Horizon League Championship. 6 more tournament games; which admittedly are the best kind of basketball games in my opinion. It’s both the men and women’s championships in this case, so this is kind of a weird smattering of photos yet again but also a very enjoyable event. This also marks the first time I’ve done a backboard camera for myself. I’ve helped set them up for other people but not to shoot on my own. Learned a few lessons but was happy with the result. Thank you for having me out and for for helping with the remote and keeping me on task!

I’m a little late to the party with this post but admittedly I’ve been digitally buried; only now coming up for some air. This is a random smattering from the Big Ten Women’s basketball tournament last week. First 14 tournament games of the season for me and as usual the girls did not disappoint. I only wish I had more space to show more of the blanket coverage of the event. Thank you for having me out for the week, and also and for keeping me on task.

I spent a few days last week at the a Big Ten indoor track and field championships. Track and field can be tough. There *a lot* going on all at the same time. As the”pool” photographer the goal is just to get as much as you can of as may as you can; even if they may not be the champion of that event. These kids are fast. Saw a few collegiate records broken and a lot of personal bests. It was a great few days at the Indiana state fairgrounds. swept both awards like they owned the place. Second year in a row.

Thank you for having me out for a few days. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

And just like that, it’s volleyball season. Last night the kicked off their 2026 home season. The weather was pretty bad but the game action was good even if it wasn’t the outcome we wanted. Luckily there is still a lot of season left to play. Thank you Ignite for having me out!

Last project for 2025 should be the first post for 2026 right? Meet the 2026 Indy Ignite Volleyball team! This was a fun project with to end the 2025 and now that the photos are starting to surface I can finally post about it. Sure, we always do media photos on bright white too but these are the fun ones. Made with a roll of Mylar and insulation board the whole thing was super cool to see in person. Congrats on winning hour first game this season Ignite! Looking forward to seeing everyone at the home opener in 1 week and thank you again for having me!

For the nerds out there. The background light is provided by forza 60C heads. The main light is a B10X inside of an Rotalux Octabox with a grid. Group photo was with an Elinchrom FIVE and53” Rotalux octabox. All shot on z9 cameras with Z glass.

And that’s a wrap on 2025. Lots of photographers post their best or most liked photos from the year but I abandoned that tradition a while back. Instead I prefer to make a post filled with images you may have not seen, or just don’t know are mine. There are still a few embargo’s keeping me from posting some of the cool stuff (except for a test shot I snuck in there for one) but this is a nice start. I am eternally grateful for all of the clients that trusted me to bring their vision to life, and most of all I am thankful for the understanding that my incredible wife has with my roller coaster of a schedule. I could do none of this without her and someday I’ll find a way to make up to her some of the 2 or 3am alarms I set through out the year.

Wishing the best for everyone in 2026 and I look forward to seeing you all again soon. Happy shooting!

2025 Indy classic. This is one of my favorite basketball events to end the year. Lots more basketball still to come but watching some Indiana teams play some not your usual outside of Indiana teams is always a good time. It makes for a long day shooting, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. And both and came out on top. Good way to wrap up my basketball coverage for 2025. Thank you for having me out for the weekend!
