Music therapy is a powerful thing.

A choir-based pilot project in Calgary aims to give dementia patients and their caregivers an opportunity to do something they love, together. Memory Lane Chorus is a 15 week program started by Youth Singers of Calgary and JB Music Therapy.

Just returned from a fabulous two-day rehabilitation resources conference focused on voc rehab and criminal justice issues for people with traumatic brain injury hosted by the Neuroscience Department of Indiana University School of Medicine. We also learned more about accessing valuable evaluative tools to classify degrees of TBI. Also, underdiagnosis and undertreatment often lead to TBI survivors' being funneled incorrectly through the criminal justice system, as their behaviors are often misunderstood by law enforcement and other professionals.

What an intense week in Columbia Mo. Graduated 10 new Basic Dementia Care Mappers. Debriefed , graded 3 advanced "maps" and reports and congratulated a very deserving 3 advanced mappers. Congratulations to Sharon Spotswood, Carmen Woodward,Betsy Stevens for attaining Advanced DCM Mapper status. Watch for their names on the University of Bradford's international advanced mapper list.
