It's finally extraction time! The bees have been working hard this hot summer to produce honey. Now that it's close to August, we have started the extraction process, and all their hard work is paying off. While it's just the beginning of this busy period, we will be doing this for the next month.

On Wednesday, we had the chance to speak at Nashua Public Library during their Family Fun Night. We talked about the lifecycle of bees, the honey making process, and brought in an observation hive to show the bees in action!

The bees have returned! They spent winter in California, helping with almond pollination. Now, they're back in Iowa, ready to help us as the warmer months approach (fingers crossed!). During their return two weeks ago, they faced the hottest days, strong winds, and rainstorms. Currently, the bees look healthy and are waiting to be fed and treated so honey production can begin. We hope the upcoming season remains dry, allowing the bees to pollinate.
