We are so excited about this local resource!!! Kayla and I were just talking about the importance of pelvic floor physical therapy, especially for postpartum women. I was surprised and overjoyed to learn that Hermiston with its resource limitations actually has a pelvic floor physical therapist and not only do we have one, but she is AWESOME!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hello! My name is Emily Wood and I am a physical therapist specializing in Women’s Health. I am local to the area, born in Pendleton, raised in Helix, Oregon and am back to living in the Helix area with my husband and daughter. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Montana and then went on to get my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Idaho State University.
Starting in PT school, I began the journey of gaining the extra course work and knowledge required for the field of pelvic health. I have chosen to focus primarily on patients with female anatomy and am trained to care for a variety of pelvic floor related issues including urinary and f***l incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain and pain with intimacy, tailbone pain/injury, diastasis recti, constipation, as well as orthopedic and pelvic floor issues related to pregnancy and postpartum.
I enjoy balancing my work life with caring for my daughter, helping my husband on the farm, and copious different hobbies and projects. My main hobbies though include crocheting, gardening, baking, reading, and of course, various avenues of exercise!
