One of the biggest leadership lessons I've learned as a clinic owner is this:
No news doesn't always mean everything is okay.
Early on, I assumed that if my staff wasn't bringing up problems, then things must be running smoothly. Over time, I realized that strong teams are built through intentional communication, not assumptions.
That's why regular one-on-one meetings have become such an important part of our practice.
These meetings create space for honest conversations, accountability, growth, and support. They help team members feel heard, valued, and connected to the mission of the clinic.
You don't need to be a leadership expert. You just need to consistently show up for your people.
If you're looking for a simple way to start having more productive individual meetings with your team, I've put together the same agenda sheet we use in our practice plus a video to guide you on how to use it effectively.

Small leadership habits can make a big difference over time.
