The long line to check in last Friday at Omni Hotels & Resorts in NC was unbelievable! When the front desk person wrote my CC info on a piece of paper, I was a bit alarmed but understood. Despite the disruption, I do commend the staff on doing their best to operate as seamlessly as possible. Speaks to their culture, I guess.

Preparing for Cyber risks is critical for ALL organizations. This kind of disruption creates a multitude of risks for the customer, like room safety, no access to cash when limited CC processing. Need patience for the long lines and wait times.

Dallas-based Omni Hotels & Resorts said Wednesday it was the victim of a cyberattack that caused the company to shut down its systems late last week.

Microsoft said that Nobelium, a Russian-based hacking group, launched the phishing campaign by gaining access to a marketing account of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
