The GREAT Darke County Fair. A place that truly lives up to its name. Though the dust has more than settled from this year’s fair, we’re not about to forget the success of the Burns & Marker kids.

Heck of a weekend down in the Peach State 🍑

We could sit and talk sheep all day long (and if you’d like to, give me a call), but this post is about something much bigger than banners and buckles. These kids are truly something special. I still can’t wrap my head around how fortunate I am to work with families who entrust me to help their kids chase their goals. That’s what makes weekends like this so meaningful.

A week ago today, I was sitting in the barn at Columbus, probably giving Bruce Burns a hard time about being slow or overly OCD—same way we always do. But what I didn’t know then was that we were standing at the edge of one of the most unforgettable weeks we’ve ever had at the Ohio State Fair.

It’s easy to throw around words like “grateful” and “blessed” in moments like these, but I don’t say them lightly. The truth is, I get to work with some of the best kids and families in the country—people who pour everything they have into the barn and into each other. Last week, they reminded me exactly why I love doing this.
