Celebrating Manufacturing Day!

Today, October 2, we were proud to partner with Nissan to celebrate Manufacturing Day with a special tour, discussion, and activity at the Nissan Canton plant!

Students from the Centers of Excellence program at Ridgeland High School had the opportunity to tour the facility, learn more about advanced manufacturing, and see firsthand the exciting career opportunities available in Mississippi’s manufacturing industry.

It was a great day of learning, exploring and connecting students with the future of manufacturing. We’re grateful to Nissan for hosting and to the students for bringing their curiosity and enthusiasm! 👏

We're proud to recognize Manufacturing Day in Mississippi and celebrate the manufacturers, workers, and innovators who keep our state moving forward.

Governor Tate Reeves has officially signed a proclamation recognizing October 2 as Manufacturing Day in Mississippi, highlighting the important role manufacturing plays in creating jobs, strengthening communities, and driving our state's economy.

What a day at General Assembly!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Mississippi Business Alliance’s 2026 General Assembly! From meaningful conversations and connections to celebrating the people and businesses moving Mississippi forward, it was a great day to come together and look toward the future of our state.

A special highlight of the day was recognizing the finalists of the 2026 Mississippi Makers Challenge and announcing this year’s winner! 🏆

Kimberly McRoy, Program Director for Mississippi’s Recovery Friendly Workplace Coalition, represented our state this week at the 2026 Recovery Friendly Workplace Convening in Washington, D.C.

Hosted by the National Recovery Friendly Workplace Institute, the convening brought together leaders from across the country to share best practices, employer and employee perspectives, workplace prevention strategies, health-plan oversight, updates to national RFW certification, and priorities from the National Drug Control Strategy.

As Mississippi recognizes September as Recovery Friendly Workplace Month, we are proud to be part of this national movement and look forward to bringing these ideas and connections home to help Mississippi employers build safer, stronger, and more supportive workplaces.

Governor Tate Reeves has officially proclaimed September 2026 as Substance Abuse Recovery Friendly Workplace Month in Mississippi.

The proclamation recognizes the important role employers can play in supporting recovery, strengthening workforce participation, improving retention, reducing workplace risk, and connecting employees and families to appropriate resources.

Through the Mississippi Recovery Friendly Workplace Coalition, the Mississippi Business Alliance Foundation is working with employers across the state to provide practical tools, training, policy guidance, and connections to recovery-informed community resources.

We are proud to see Mississippi recognize that recovery and meaningful employment can go hand in hand.
