🪳 The weather is cooling down... and somebody is looking for indoor accommodations.

Smokybrown roaches love moisture and sheltered environments, and around Georgia homes they may be found near gutters, rooflines, landscaping and other damp areas.

Translation:

That clogged gutter isn't just annoying.

It could be creating exactly the kind of environment pests appreciate.

Keep gutters clean, manage moisture around your home, and if the roaches decide to come inside anyway...

We'll take it from there.

Unfortunately, the squirrels haven't read the listing rules.

As cooler weather arrives, squirrels may investigate rooflines, vents and other openings while looking for protected places.

And once they're inside?

Scratch. Scratch. Scurry. Thump.

If your ceiling suddenly sounds like it's hosting a tiny gymnastics competition, it may be time for an inspection.

🕷️ Somebody started decorating for Halloween without asking.

You bought pumpkins.

You hung a wreath.

The Joro spider handled the cobwebs. 😂

And let's be fair—they are VERY committed to the theme.

Their large webs become especially noticeable around homes, porches, trees and landscaping this time of year.

If one has claimed the exact path you need to walk through every morning... we understand the concern.

🍁 Haynes Fall Tip: Your house doesn't need a leaf blanket.

Those beautiful fall leaves look great across the yard.

Piled against your foundation? Not so much.

Leaf piles can hold moisture and create sheltered areas where insects and other pests can hang out close to your home.

A little fall cleanup can go a long way:

🍂 Rake leaves away from the foundation
🌿 Keep landscaping from piling against the house
🪵 Move wood and debris away from exterior walls
👀 Watch for pest activity while you're cleaning

Enjoy the leaves. Just don't let the bugs enjoy them against your house.

🐜 They're tiny. They're organized. And apparently nobody told them they don't live here.

One ant on the counter might not seem like much.

Then you look again...

And somehow he invited 47 of his closest friends. 😂

Ants may head indoors in search of food, water and shelter. If the ant highway has officially reached your kitchen, Haynes can help get to the source of the problem.

🍂 New month. New season. Same uninvited guests.

October has officially arrived, and while we're ready for cooler weather, pumpkins, football, and falling leaves... the pests are making their own fall plans.

🐜 Ants: “Is there food inside?”
🪳 Roaches: “Is it warmer in there?”
🐿️ Squirrels: “Nice attic.”
🦇 Bats: “Interesting roofline.”
🕷️ Joro spiders: “We'll just take the entire front porch.”

As temperatures change, don't be surprised if pests start looking a little too interested in your home.

📣 SEPTEMBER PEST ROLL CALL!

🪳 Giant roaches? PRESENT.
🕷️ Joro Spiders? VERY present.
🐿️ Squirrels investigating real estate opportunities? PRESENT.
🐜 Ants that missed the memo that summer is ending? PRESENT.

September may be over, but pest season definitely isn't.

Keep an eye on what's happening around your home as we head deeper into fall—and if something starts crawling, flying, scratching, or building a web where it shouldn't…

You know who to call. 😉

🏡 Happy National Good Neighbor Day!

Good neighbors lend you a cup of sugar.

Great neighbors bring your trash can back up the driveway.

And AMAZING neighbors tell you there's a giant Joro Spider hanging directly above your front door before you walk into it. 🕷️😂

Today is a great reminder that strong communities are built by people looking out for one another.

Haynes is proud to serve the communities we call home. 💚

Tag a neighbor who's always got your back!

🪳 You walk into the kitchen at midnight and see a giant roach.

Choose your fighter:

A. 🩴 The flip-flop
B. 🧹 The broom
C. 😱 Screaming for someone else
D. 📞 Calling Haynes and refusing to enter the kitchen again until further notice

No judgment here.

Especially if you picked C. 😂

But if the BIG guys keep showing up, it's time to figure out why they're getting inside.
