Omar Little - the gay stick-up man from "The Wire" TV show, who struck fear into Baltimore's toughest dealers while openly loving his man. Back in 2002, showing genuine intimacy between gay men of color on mainstream TV was practically unheard of.
The man behind Omar, the late Michael K. Williams, admitted he was initially scared to play a gay character. But once he realized Omar wasn't written as a stereotype - just a complex, non-flamboyant man who happened to be gay - he didn't just embrace the role. He revolutionized it.
Williams went off-script to film that first kiss, leaving the whole crew frozen in shock. No subtle hair touching or gentle lip brushing for him. He knew that real love deserved real representation, even if it made network execs nervous.
Omar Little changed TV forever. And it took an actor just as bold and groundbreaking to make it happen.

Oftentime Hoodoo and Voodoo have always been villianized and put in opposition of Christianity. However, do you all know that many Hoodoo traditions were intertwined with Christianity to hide their African practices, thus creating a portion of ‘hoodoo’ that align with Christianity. These acts are fixture to Hoodoo such as casting spells using scripture and etc.
