Cooler nights are here in Northeast Florida, and roof rats know it. This is the time of year when we see a jump in calls about scratching in the attic after dark.
Roof rats only need a gap about the size of a quarter. Common entry points are roof returns, soffit gaps, AC line penetrations, and gable vents. Traps can catch the rats already inside, but if the entry points stay open, more will move in.
Here's how Coastal handles it:
β A full inspection from the roofline down
β Sealing every entry point with materials built to last
β Removing the rats already inside
β Cleanup and enzyme treatment to break down droppings, urine, and the scent trails that draw new rodents in. Most companies skip this step.
If you're hearing noises overhead, now is the time to deal with it, before it turns into chewed wiring and ruined insulation. Call us for a prompt response and a free, no-pressure proposal.
