Have you ever made a really bad decision where the consequences were life changing?
I’ll be the first to admit I have.
As a coach, I’ve never had a person start their session with, I made a bad decision and I need direction on how to move forward.
Most of our bad decision clean up starts with what someone else did that caused us to make a bad decision and ultimately end up in the consequences faze.
In the end restoration must begin with us taking responsibility for the decision we made, and living out the consequences that ultimately must take place.
Maybe that’s losing a friend, money, property or any manner of things. There are certain consequences that we must deal with because healing starts in the consequences. Not at the beginning necessarily, but in the work of coming back from the edge.
God can and will bring us back from a place of burnt ash to a place of lush flourishing growth.
I lived out my consequences and walked into a better life. It was tough to get started but I feel so blessed with how things turned out.
Oh, and don’t forget…if you like keeping a list of all the wrongs someone did, don’t be surprised if one day you find someone is keeping a list of all your wrongs.
I know that’s one hurts. Those lists are like poison in your blood stream.
Forgive yourself, do better tomorrow, and let God lead your way.
A good coach can help.
