Yesterday we fixed a refrigerator that was purchased in late 2024 at a local appliance dealer. When the fridge quit, and the customer called the self-servicing dealer for service. He was told that they did not have a tech to fix his appliance. The customer then had a servicer from out of the area come and diagnose the fridge. This service tech's diagnosis consisted of opening the freezer, verifying that it was not cold, and closing the door. He told the customer to buy a new fridge because it would cost over $1000.00 to repair and it was not worth it. Having a hard time believing his 1.5-year-old refrigerator was junk he listened to a friend's recommendation and called Penn Forest Appliance Repair. We diagnosed the refrigerator the next day as having a faulty defrost timer, ordered the part, and made the repair for $178.00 total. We are grateful for the word-of-mouth advertising we receive from our rapidly growing customers. Luckily the element in this dryer failed before catastrophe happened. Dryer lint is highly flammable it could be smoldering inside your dryer without you noticing.
