Our Adirondack fall team is hard at work on Long Lake! We are 3 days into a 6 day project pulling Variable Leafed Milfoil near round island.
The photo on the left is from Utowana Lake and the photo on the right is from Long Lake. Diver Dom is very proud of the Quality of his work! He is still bare hand harvesting, so he can feel all those roots!
After a few dive hrs today he lost his left pinkie, but warmed up with his cooler of hot water during a tank exchange and got back to work.

As many of you noticed, last fall we cleared a parking area on the hill, next to the Dive center. Now we have purchased a food truck for the public (lot will be leveled next week, food truck will be parked later October).
These maneuvers have been strategic towards our goal of opening a youth summer camp on the cleared lot in 2027.
Next year will be our pilot year with the summer camp. Our campers will achieve their PADI Open Water Certification, hike the Chester Challenge and enjoy what many of us would consider the most beautiful part of the Adirondacks.
During their time in Chestertown, they will dive in Loon Lake and learn more about our Lakes ecology.
Our counselors will be environmental college students that live in the (almost completed) bunkhouse with our milfoil divers and culinary intern food truck operators.
As for the bunkhouse, renovations are nearly complete. Next week ADK heat pump will be installing 8 mini split units throughout the building.
