Titan Solar, one of the largest solar companies in the U.S. closed its doors this month. This TIME magazine article sums up the trouble with many of these large solar installation companies, why there are so many consumer lawsuits, and why their business model ultimately fails. If you are interested in solar for your home, you should investigate potential installation companies thoroughly. Look at pictures of their systems, including Inverter and BOS (Balance of System) installations. Conduit runs are more than just aesthetics. It can reveal inexperience, poor planning, and an unprofessional installation, all of which can be used by state inspectors as reasons for a Failed Inspection.
