Moving has been a great reminder of why what I do matters.

I spent the last couple weeks calling company after company to switch my services over. More than once, I found myself yelling "AGENT" into the phone, trying to get past an AI system that just would not let me talk to a real person and didn’t understand what I was asking for. By the end of it, I was beyond frustrated. Not because the tasks were hard, but because getting actual help felt impossible.

It made me think about my own clients.

This is exactly why I started Get Honest Solutions. When my customers call me, they get me. Not a script, not a maze of menus, just a real person who already knows their business and actually answers the phone. And when they do need support for the payment processing I set them up with, they get a real human, in the US, usually within seconds. No offshore call centers. No bots standing between them and an answer.

My clients just pick up the phone and call me directly. That is not an accident. That is the whole point of doing business this way.

I’m in my “I’ll figure it out” era, and for someone who has always craved structure and needed a plan for everything, that’s kind of a big deal.

Today was the last day of school for my kids. I’m heading into summer with no daycare lined up, and instead of spiraling, I just told myself: I’ll figure it out.

And the reason I can say that? I built a business that gives me the freedom to.

Running Get Honest Solutions means I get to decide what the schedule looks like, what the priorities are, and how I show up for my kids when it matters. That’s not something I take for granted.

2026 has already brought so much change, a new home on the horizon, a new chapter unfolding, and it’s not slowing down. But I’ve stopped seeing that as something to manage and started seeing it for what it actually is: growth.

I am growing. And I am so excited to keep going.

The future is bright.

I reflect on this so much lately.

Someone once said on a sales call, “why wouldn’t you want to make more money if you could?”

Why would I want to work more than I need to? If my bills are paid, I’m able to invest for retirement and have some luxuries, why would I work more?

I want to spend every minute I can with my kids right now, while they are little and still like me!

I feel rich because I have the flexibility to do just that.

Most business owners I talk to have never actually read their credit card processing statement.

And I get it. They're confusing by design.

Two new customers this week. Same reason both times.

They were dropped by their processor. No warning. No explanation. Just a notification that their account was being closed and suddenly they couldn't accept credit cards.

One of them was back up and running within a few hours.

Here's something a lot of business owners don't know — if you're using QuickBooks Online, you are not locked into QuickBooks Payments. There are several other options for accepting credit cards that sync directly with QBO. No manual data entry. No disruption to your books. Just a better fit for your business.

The payment processing industry is great at signing you up and not so great at showing up when something goes wrong.

Last week, I shared that I'm moving.

I didn't have to ask permission. I didn't have to worry about a territory. I just decided to go.

I founded Get Honest Solutions to do one thing: help businesses navigate the overly complicated, often dishonest world of merchant services and point of sale — with transparency, real expertise, and the work-life balance that most people never find.

I've been keeping a secret and I'm excited to finally share it.

A business owner once handed me a stack of his monthly processing statements.

Sealed. Never opened.

I asked him why.

He said, "Why would I? I don't understand any of it anyway."

That's not a him problem. That's an industry problem.

The credit card processing industry makes money when you don't ask questions. Confusing statements, mystery fees, and pricing models designed to hide the markup aren't accidents.

They're the business model.

If you've never calculated your effective rate, here's how:

Total fees for the month ÷ Total processing volume = Your effective rate

It doesn't tell you the whole story, but it tells you whether there's a story worth investigating.
