When someone on a crew starts pulling back, is quieter than usual, or missing shifts, it might be more than just a bad day.​

What can you do? Find a private minute, ask an open question, listen without rushing to fix it. If you're worried they may harm themselves, it's okay to ask directly, and if someone is in crisis, call or text 988.​

But sometimes protecting someone starts with something as simple as checking in.

For those of us who work in and around the construction industry, there’s an especially important reason to have this conversation: construction workers have one of the highest su***de rates among major occupational groups. But this issue reaches far beyond the jobsite. It affects all of us.

You never know what someone may be carrying behind the scenes.

Commercial kitchen fire protection isn’t just about checking a box — it’s about protecting people, property, and the businesses they’ve worked hard to build. 🔥🧯

So what does a Fire Marshal look for during an inspection?

✔️ Proper installation of the hood and fire suppression system
✔️ Correct nozzle placement and coverage
✔️ Properly positioned and accessible manual pull station
✔️ Required fuel and electrical shutoffs
✔️ Class K fire extinguisher requirements
✔️ Proper operation of the suppression system
✔️ Activation of the system and proper operation of connected equipment
✔️ The suppression system properly reporting to the building fire alarm system when required
✔️ The alarm signal reaching the fire alarm panel and, where applicable, the monitoring/central station
✔️ Installation and components meeting applicable codes, standards, approved plans, and manufacturer requirements

A successful inspection isn’t just a green light. It’s confidence that the system is ready to do its job when it matters most.

September 11, 2001 — 25 Years Later, We Remember.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, friends, coworkers, and children whose lives were taken — and the families who have carried that loss for 25 years.

We honor the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, military personnel, and other first responders who ran toward danger to help others.

Every life lost mattered. Every family affected mattered. Every sacrifice mattered.

Twenty-five years later, the pain of that day has not been forgotten, and neither have the people who were taken from us.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
