For this project in Honolulu, we were able to tackle this phase 1 project for a new client!
She had a vision for her new home business startup and we were blessed with the opportunity to get it done for her. She was great to work with and super accommodating!

The existing structure was collapsing in and was full of rot. We had to completely demo the existing structure and rebuild it as we designed it including a new perimeter structural footing.

We built it with all the design accents she wanted, including a new perimeter structural footing with two courses of rebar and concrete cored cmu, a new framed struture with open beam single slope roof , shiplap style siding and ceiling, windows with live edge acacia plank window sills(interior and exterior), barn doors, electrical and plumbing upgrade, new steps, under door drain port, new linear drain in the yard to replace the old concrete drain, collapsible live edge desk top from a repurposed old computer desk she provided, new ceiling fan, outlets, exterior flood lights and Ring light, outdoor hosebib and shower, AC install, TV wallmount with tv install, low voltage CAT 6 install, gutter, and exterior paint with accent colors, etc.

It was a fun project and we’re so grateful that she was so stoked how it came out!

Phase 2 will be the interior drywall, paint, interior wire moulding and window/door trim, flooring etc. which we’ll do when she’s ready and our schedule allows.

For this project in Kailua, we were able to tackle these phase 2 tasks, after we finished the upstairs bathroom remodel for our incredible clients during phase 1! They have been nothing short of amazing and we are grateful for the opportunity to help bring their vision to fruition! They were kind and generous and we look forward to the next project!

These phase 2 projects were revamping the kitchen by replacing the old dark granite countertops with new white and grey quartz, we did a full matching quartz backsplash, installed a new large low profile stainless sink and faucet, replaced the under cab lighting with new LED under cab lighting and repaired the drywall ceiling, painted and installed a new ceiling fan!

These projects came out great even though we had some material issues early on. It just became an opportunity to solution seek and it worked out!

For this project in Kailua, we were blessed with the opportunity to help my best friend, Martin Day , launch his new business, Prime Martial Arts formally known as Martial Arts Company (a.k.a MAC). The new location is next to KFC in Kailua, where Kimo’s Surf Hut used to be.

We did a bunch of miscellaneous tasks to help get the space ready and open for their amazing students and thier families.

The centerpiece of what we did, was designed and built their new reception desk.

This desk was a labor of love, we built it level regardless of the multi-directional sloping floor. We built it sturdy with built-in outlets for their printer, computer, tablet, phone etc.
We even added LED indirect lighting on the back and the front side which illuminates their new logo on a pane of plexiglass installed with stainless standoff hardware.

I wanted the front desk to be rugged, clean and everything in between. The cherry on top was the crystal clear epoxy poured to a glass finish over the horizontal surfaces such as the computer desk top, the bar top etc.

These projects came out great and we are grateful for the opportunity to help bring his vision to fruition!

Also, Prime Martial Arts is an incredible place for you and your child to learn various martial arts such as tae kwon do, kickboxing etc.

such as leadship, discipline, perseverance, consistency, reflection, adaptation and being goal driven amongst other things.

It truly is an incredible community to be a part of and I couldn’t recommend it more. Our 3 year old will be attending classes starting next week. I hope to see you there!

Also want to shout out, Justin Day from Built With Integrity who did most of the renovations, such as paint, some framing and drywall work, bleachers, mounting hardware etc. He and his crew were critical in getting the school open on time as well and they did nothing short of amazing work.

For this project in Kailua, we were able to tackle Phase 2 tasks, after we finished her front deck project and a picture window replacement.

As mentioned in a previous post, she’s been amazing to work with and we’ve been blessed with the opportunity to tackle these other projects at her home in Kailua.

These phase 2 projects we completed for her were a custom 4’w X 8’h built in bookshelf, with a design that was directly inspired from
an existing built in bookshelf.

We also mortised, modified and installed 3 interior two panel arch top doors to fit in the existing door frames. These new doors match the doors she has on the side of the house that was a newer addition.

We also installed a new exterior fiberglass prehung door to replace an older stained wood door that took some damage from the elements.

And last, we installed an awesome, sturdy collapsible attic access door and stairs and modified the framing in the attic to allow for easier use while carrying items to store in the attic, while reinforcing the structural support carrying the apex of the roof.

These projects came out great and we are grateful for the opportunity to come back and help bring her vision to fruition!

For this project in Kailua, we were able to build this 20’ wide deck for our client. She’s been amazing to work with and we’ve been blessed with the opportunity to tackle other projects at her home.

For this project in Waimanalo, we were able to build the 12’x40’ deck with composite decking, footings, CMU columns, glulam beams and a two landing staircase, custom railing design and tied into the roof with a 2:12 pitch, 2 layer asphalt roll roofing with all the column caps and Simpson ties one could ask for lol.

For this project in Maunawili, we were blessed to do a full kitchen remodel, including Tier 5 quartz countertops with a modern porcelain farmhouse sink.

They were generous and patient, and we worked together to get the project just right!

They found a Pinterest photo they liked and we modeled the kitchen after it and it came out great!

Stained oak island and white shaker style cabs for the rest.

We went with a custom cabinet shop for this project. The cabinets are great quality but unfortunately we ran into timeline issues as the cabinets took months to finish. The clients were incredibly patient.

I’m just glad we were able to get the project done how they wanted it and even installed an appliance cubby! We also did some change order stuff like converting the dual lights to a single light which required us to build a custom escutcheon, to trimming out their bay window, converting to black finishes on everything, and changing to a farmhouse sink that required another sink cabinet to be built amongst other things. At the end of the day it came out great and we’re stoked to have been a part of this great project and work with these awesome people.
