Why Email Lists are Essential for Creators 💥

*SWIPE & SAVE FOR LATER*

You’ve probably heard of the usual reasons which are “you don’t own your social media platforms”
“you could lose your account or get h*acked”

Both are very true.

I've personally experienced account suspension and never getting it back, so I get it.

But as a creator, this is an opportunity to strengthen your relationship and further engage with your community.

It can also help you monetize. 💰

My favorite is Reason #4.
My favorite email service providers to get started are:

✅ Mailerlite,
✅ Convertkit,
✅ Active Campaign

Look, I know you don’t have time or quite frankly the storage to keep creating all this content without getting paid for it. 😩

You can’t consider creating content a money generating activity if it’s not helping you monetize in one way or another.

That’s why it’s important to implement a content creation strategy now because you’re starting to forget why you enjoyed it so much before.

It’s time to start bringing in extra income while you’re doing all this work posting content.

If your goal is to be a full time or part time influencer, the real money generating activity should be sending well crafted pitches to brands and getting clear on your influencer brand. ✅

I know it’s tempting to try out every new Instagram “hack” or try out every trend, but I promise you you’ll get more results by getting in front of the brand contacts that actually determine which influencers will be part of their campaigns.

Posting content isn’t a *sure* way to get in front of that person.

The person that posts social media content for brands, isn’t always the person who handles influencer campaigns.

That’s why spending time to find the right brand contact and sending a well crafted pitch is the best way to land paid partnerships.

As the CEO of an influencer management agency, this is exactly how I’ve been able to land 4-figure partnerships for my influencer clients.

With my coaching program Primed to Pitch, you’ll learn the exact framework I use to craft pitches that actually lead to paid partnerships.

I also help you come up with a content creation strategy that attracts brands with budgets and aligned followers.

🛑Stop thinking your follower count is the golden ticket for paid campaigns.

One of the biggest frustrations when you first start out as a content creator is that you have no idea how to start getting paid partnerships.

And the misconception is that all the influencers with a large following are making bank, but many have no idea where to even begin.

They believed their follower count would naturally lead to paid offers as long as the content is good.

And my people with smaller accounts believe they don’t have a chance to be an influencer, because of their follower count, because it seems that the only people getting paid to post content have 4-5 zeros after their follower count.

The common theme with you both is that everyone gets overwhelmed quickly because there’s no real goal in mind that relates back to the KPIs (key performance indicators brands are looking for.

And the main thing that is NOT happening is that large following or small, you're not receiving many (if any) paid brand partnerships or paid collaborations.

Remember when you first started and you actually enjoyed posting without all the pressure? Or without thinking about how much you want to feel seen and valued for your content?

Check out this video where I share why your current content creation strategy is taking up too much time without getting properly recognized or compensated.

👉🏾 Stick around, because I’ll be sharing what you need to be doing to gain visibility with the brands you want to work with.

This is your reminder that you can and SHOULD provide your full rates to brands, even if they say:

🚨“We’re new”
🚨“We’re a small business”
🚨“We’re a non-profit”

Most of you have expressed to me in the DMs how frustrated you get when brands don’t want to pay, but want you to do THE MOST.

Here’s the thing, sometimes brands really don’t have budgets. We can’t fault them for shooting their shot.

It’s ok to let them know when they have a larger budget to keep you in mind for future campaigns.

I’ve done this on behalf of my influencer clients and it has lead to multiple 4-figure partnerships when the budget was available later on down the road. 🙌🏾

You don’t have to feel guilty about providing rates to brands regardless of their circumstances. It’s their responsibility to set aside a marketing budget.

I know as a vegan and plant-based content creator you’e passionate about spreading the word to your audience about brands that have vegan options….don’t let that stop you from getting paid. 🤑

I want influencers to stop settling for gifted campaigns and start working with aligned brands with budgets.

That’s why I created Primed to Pitch. It’s a coaching accelerator for nano and micro-influencers in the vegan and plant-based niche.

DM me if you’re interested in learning more. 4 spots available for July!

How to position your brand to get better paid partnerships in less than a week ✅

When growing influencers come to me, the most pressing thing they always need help with is their content.

They’re posting content consistently, but the content isn’t helping their brand and it’s not getting results.

There’s always a struggle around what they need to be posting to get paid collaborations.

They come to me at a stage where the free collabs are no longer exciting them (because it DOES NOT pay the bills!) and they are ready to get paid partnerships.

When I tell you I have gone through so many negative experiences with brands when I was an influencer...

I'm talking things like:

👉🏾Pitching a brand and securing a bad contract that didn’t guarantee me pay after months of posting content on their behalf 🤦🏾‍♀️

👉🏾Posting a lot of content, but the pay doesn’t match the level of commitment or work I was putting in 😒

👉🏾Getting late payments from brands even though my content was posted as agreed and on time 😩

These experiences made me determined to make sure influencers are getting paid what they’re due and getting it on time.

I’m living proof that having a large following doesn’t matter. In fact, I was doing much better with my engagement when I had a much smaller following.

And you could too, you just don't know how to use data you have to your advantage.

My client Rasheeta has implemented Instagram strategies I’ve recommended and has gone from 7k followers in Nov 2020 to over 33k today.

Her first paid collaboration was with Splendid Spoon and Reebok. She’s gone from 3 figure to 4 figure partnerships with brands emailing her with paid collaboration requests.

🚨Focus on a Strategy First, Then Follower Growth🚨

Have you noticed Instagram isn’t really a “just for fun” platform anymore?

It’s really an amazing business tool we get to use for free.

But HOW you use it requires goal setting and strategy.

Posting everyday (or more) *without* goals or a strategy is gonna lead to frustration and exhaustion. 😩

Do you feel like you’re just posting just for the sake of getting something up to stay “consistent”? 🤔

I know you want to focus on growing your following, that’s normal.

You can achieve that, but you’ll get to a point where you’ll never be satisfied with your follower count until you’re making money along the way.

👉🏾Here’s how you can grow the RIGHT following *and* monetize:

✅ First, take a break from posting. It’s ok to focus on your strategy for a minute instead of posting random content.

✅ Next, decide how you want to monetize. You need to decide this first if you want to make money online. No matter how many followers you get, you won’t make any money until you figure this part out.

Your content should be created around your offer or niched down, top notch quality content if you want to work with brands in the paid capacity.

✅ Focus on building an email list along with follower growth. You can monetize your email list without worrying about the IG algorithm. Plus, you own your email list.

Is monetizing something you’ve found yourself stuck with in the past?

Feel free to comment or shoot me a DM, I’d love to chat.

This is something I help influencers and content creators with all the time and I’d love to help you. 🙂

✨FOLLOWER COUNT ANXIETY✨

What are you equating that number to? 🤔

Do you think a large follower count is how content creators make money?

Sadly, it’s not. 🥲

It doesn’t matter how many followers you have.

You won’t make any money if you don’t have a way to monetize.

You need to decide that first so you can then come up with a strategy for your content.

Here are some ways you can monetize:

👉🏾Online course
👉🏾1:1 coaching
👉🏾Memberships
👉🏾Group coaching
👉🏾Selling templates
👉🏾Working with brands
👉🏾Affiliate Marketing
👉🏾Monetizing content (blog, Reels, etc)
👉🏾Managing influencers…(I do this)

How would you like to make money online?

Before you focus on follower count, decide on how you want to monetize first.

Let me know in the comments how you plan to make some coins online. 👇🏾

Are your core values as an influencer defined? 🤔

What do you want to be known for?

Would a brand know what your values are when they look at your page?

I manage influencers who are vegan and/or plant-based, however, they don’t all align with the same brands.

They all have different core values and wouldn't promote the same things.

I’m currently in talks with a brand now and they were interested in learning more about everyone on the roster. However, since I know the core values of my clients, I only mentioned the ones that would align with their brand.

You always want to come across authentic to your audience as an influencer.

You don’t want to promote any and everything for some coins and ruin the trust you have with your audience.

If you don’t know your core values, get clear on what they are. They’ll determine which brands you align with.

SEND YOUR MEDIA KIT AS A LINK

When I’m sending pitches to brands on behalf of my clients on the VOI Agency roster, I send their media kits as links.

It’s a better option than sending them as an attachment.

I love that I can track the links and know whether or not the brand opened the email and clicked the link. 👀

It lets me know that it probably got to the right person and they were compelled enough to learn more about the influencer I’m pitching.

Attachments can get your pitch sent straight to the spam folder and no one wants that. ❌

Here’s why I recommend using Canva to send your media kit.

✅You can easily create a media kit in Canva and make updates quickly.
✅You can still download it as a PDF file if you need to.
✅You can link directly to your media kit
✅Brands will always have the most up to date information with the link.

Its not over once the campaign ends….

When working with brands, keep in mind you’re communicating with another human being who’s working just like you.

A small token of appreciation goes a long way to stay top of mind.

Plus, it’s a nice thing to do in general. 🙂

When I work with brands through my influencer management agency I’m in communication with brand contacts over a span of a weeks or months.

You get to know the other person on the other end and you don’t want to just end everything once the campaign is over.

You’ll want to follow up because you’ll want to work with them again in the future! ✅

Doing something that can make you stand out from everyone else will help you stay top of mind when it’s time for the next campaign.

I personally love using to send little gifts. 🥰

What will you do? How will you stay top of mind after your influencer campaigns?
