Join the Kansas Counseling Association (KCA) as we host our 2026 Spring Conference, “We Rise by Lifting Others”, on March 5th, and 6th 2026 at DoubleTree by Hilton Manhattan- 530 Richards Dr, Manhattan, KS 66502.

Our keynote speaker and breakout sessions will be posted by the end of January on the website under Continuing Education and on our socials. You do have to log into your membership account to get the member rate.

Pre-Conference will be held on Wednesday, March 4th. by KACES. There is a separate registration for this event for 3 CEs. More info to come.

CEs will be offered throughout the two days with you being able to earn an additional 3 CEs on Wednesday with the Pre-Conference sponsored by KACES. Last day to register will be February 15th, 2026. KCA is a provided through NBCC #2017.

So excited to present for the Kansas Counseling Association in less than one week! On 6/27/25 at 12:00 pm, I will provide a 1-hour CE (free for members)! If you work with kids, you don’t want to miss it. I’ll take a deep dive into the neurobiology of a child’s brain and uncover how they engage in therapy. I’m a play therapist, so we will talk about play, but knowing the brain’s function and development is amazing and supports us in our work and expertise. Will you join me? Hope to see you there! It's International Play Therapy Week! To start things off, I wanted to share why I became a play therapist. I knew from the beginning of my professional counseling career that I wanted to work with children and their families. I already worked as a Head Start Director and saw the magic of healing from play therapy interventions. I wanted to see the magic of healing with the children I work with through the therapeutic powers of play. Play Therapy not only opened my professional world to a deeper understanding of attachment, but it has also provided the theoretical uncovering of the root of what children and families experience. To say it works is an understatement. I've seen many children turn their hurt into healing, and many families learn healthy interaction patterns to turn dysfunction into enjoyment. I've also supervised many therapists as they develop play therapy competencies and have become amazing play therapists. And they are now providing therapy with the therapeutic powers of play. ❤️ Play Therapy.

This October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. It is a month where we honor the lives lost and the families who are grieving. It is estimated that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss.
