NOW IS THE TIME TO BAT-PROOF YOUR HOME

In Texas, the period after August 15 through winter is generally the best time to seal potential bat entry points. By late summer, young bats are usually able to fly, making humane exclusion safer for the entire colony.

Bats can enter through surprisingly small openings around rooflines, vents, chimneys, siding, and fascia boards. Once they move into an attic, they may leave behind droppings, odors, and contamination.

Proper bat exclusion allows any bats inside to leave before their entry points are permanently sealed. Never close an opening while bats may still be trapped inside.
