Sometimes the reason we remain stuck isn’t that we lack ability.

It’s that we assume the struggle must be solved with more effort.

So we work harder.

𝗜'𝗟𝗟 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗜 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬.

It sounds responsible.

Patient, even.

But sometimes “I'm not ready” has very little to do with readiness.

Sometimes it means:

𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥.

𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘵.

𝘐'𝘮 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘦.

𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘬.

And so we wait.

For the confidence.

For the right opportunity.

For the fear to disappear.

For some internal switch to flip and finally tell us:

𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆.

But what if that feeling never comes?

Some of the most important things you'll ever do will require you to move while part of you is still wondering whether you can.

That's not evidence that you're unprepared.

That's often what growth feels like.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲.

And then something interesting happens.

You take the step.

You learn something.

You adjust.

You take another.

And somewhere along the way, you realize:

𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐈𝐓.

Confidence.

Leadership.

Presence.

That ability to walk into a room and somehow seem like they belong there.

At least that's what we've been taught to believe.

And it's an easy conclusion to reach when we're looking at someone who seems naturally confident while we're still questioning ourselves.

But there's a problem.

𝐖𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲'𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞.
𝐖𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.

And that's where the lie gets expensive.

Because if you believe leaders are born with something you weren't, every struggle starts looking like evidence.

You hesitate.

𝘚𝘦𝘦? 𝘐'𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳.

You're afraid.

You don't know what to do next.

Maybe the difference isn't that they were born with something you missed.

Maybe they've been building something you're still waiting to discover.

𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭.

It's built through small decisions.

Courage practiced.

Promises kept.

Fear walked through.

A voice used.

Ask:

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲?

You probably don’t need more advice.

You might need someone to stop giving you advice long enough for you to hear yourself think.

Because somewhere along the way, we started believing that when we don’t know what to do next, the answer must be more information.

So we ask more people.

Listen to another podcast.

Read another book.

Watch another video.

Ask AI.

Make another list.

And somehow…

we end up with more answers and less clarity.

Maybe that’s because the problem isn’t that you don’t know enough.

Maybe you already know more than you think.

Maybe the answer has been showing up in fragments for months—or even years—but you’ve never had the space to put language around it.

That’s a very different problem.

And it doesn’t require another expert telling you what to do.

It requires conversation.

The kind where nobody is trying to fix you.

Nobody is handing you a formula.

Nobody has already decided what your answer should be.

Just good questions.

Honest conversation.

And enough space to notice what’s already there.
