Hoʻōla The Hoʻōla Honey Bee Relocation project saves honey bees from extermination on Big Island, Hawaiʻi

We are a local Big Island ʻohana with a vision of a Hawaiʻi and world where our keiki and honey bees have a safe, clean, and pesticide-free environment necessary to thrive. We believe that honey bees are important for the well-being of our families now and for future generations.

What an awesome Lau Ke Aloha workshop with Mākena’s Community Engagement celebrating our pollinators & lāʻau!

Mahalo to all who came out to join us & our friends for hosting us. We really enjoyed our time in Maui building pilina to community & place. A highlight of our workshop was the homegrown ingredients from the Makena farm including ʻōlena, citrus, nīoi and lots of different herbs. Every participant got to make their own personalized honey elixir while sharing ʻike and making new connections 🧡🍯 🐝

Just as a lei is carefully strung together as one, our nalo meli (honey bees) also kui lima - joining together in a living chain, called “festooning” - to build the foundation of their hive.

Our new label design honors more than the incredible work of our bees. It represents the community partners, organizations, schools, and individuals who have come together to support a thriving future for Hawaiʻi’s pollinators and people.

Hoʻōla wouldn’t be here without each of you. Mahalo for being part of this journey and for helping us build something stronger together. 🐝🧡

Come see our new labels (and us 😉) in person this weekend at Ho’omau Market ! We’ll have all your favorite honeys & pua vases at the Blaisdell. Hope to see you there!

So very excited to share our NEW labels brought to life with help from the talented .designs

Change is hard but remaining stagnant is harder! It is our hope that with every jar of Hoʻōla honey, our story, values & lāʻau shine through in an authentic way that is just simply, us.
