Hopefully a law like this will pass in the US regarding clothing waste. I currently use Ridwell for clothing that is stained, torn or worn. But I donate or give away the rest…would be great to know none of it will be sent to a landfill.

👕♻️ Europe has just changed the fashion industry forever.

Starting July 19, 2026, the European Union officially banned large fashion companies from destroying unsold clothes, shoes, and accessories.

Instead of sending perfectly good products to landfills or burning them, companies must now donate, recycle, or repurpose them.

The new rules apply to businesses with more than 250 employees and annual revenue above €50 million, with medium-sized companies expected to follow from 2030. Only unsafe, counterfeit, or damaged products are exempt.

Companies will also have to publish annual reports showing what happens to their unsold goods and keep detailed records for five years.

The change targets a huge environmental problem.

Every year, an estimated 264,000 to 594,000 tonnes of textiles are destroyed across the EU, while 4% to 9% of unsold fashion items are thrown away instead of being reused.

The goal is simple:

More clothes in charity shops.

More products on discount shelves.

Less waste in landfills.

It's a major step toward a circular fashion industry where clothing is made to last, repaired, reused, and recycled instead of being treated as disposable.

Do you think other countries should introduce the same ban? 👇🌍

This reminds me a bit of We Are The World. But this is even more powerful and hopeful in these time because what we need more than anything is to come together in love and care for humanity, not be divided by hate, violence and lies.

Great insight on color by a local great!

Color: The Silent Salesperson 🎨

Color is more than what we see — it’s what we feel. It influences our choices, shapes our surroundings, and speaks to us long before words ever do. From sparking emotional responses to defining a brand’s identity, color quietly persuades and connects on a deeply human level.

Cool tones build trust and calm. Warm hues excite and draw us in. Neutrals bring sophistication, and black whispers luxury. In every field — from fashion to branding — color is the “silent salesperson,” communicating meaning in milliseconds.

For me, exploring color has always been both passion and discovery. Each book I’ve written deepens that journey — uncovering how color moves us, inspires us, and tells our stories.
