Stickerless, Amazon Commingled Inventory
The term "commingle" refers to the mixing of two or more items. When individuals talk about Amazon commingled inventory, they're referring to a collection of items with the same manufacturer barcode.
Products in commingled inventory lack a unique merchant ID (thus the phrase "stickerless") and are grouped together based on their manufacturer barcodes, such as the European Article Number (EAN), Universal Product Code (UPC), or International Standard Book Number (ISBN).
How does it function?
The service of commingled inventory is optional. You can bypass the labelling procedure and dispatch your cargo to FBA directly after selecting this option from your seller account. The FBA FC staff then stores your items among other sellers' identical products.
When a consumer purchases your goods, Amazon will select any item from the mixed inventory and mail it to the buyer. Most of the time, the item chosen will come from the nearby FC to save time and money on shipping, letting consumers to receive their orders sooner.
While the order will be reimbursed to you, the product chosen by Amazon may not be the same as the one you sent in.
This implies you have no control over the product's legitimacy or quality when it is delivered to your consumer. And, if a consumer makes a counterfeit complaint against you, it will be difficult to verify whether the product was truly yours or not because there is no unique label identification that can be used to link it back to you.
To keep such risks low, Amazon sees to it that the products that go into their commingled inventory are:
-In new condition
-Not perishable, consumable, or topical products
-Not expiration-dated
-Not within the dangerous goods category
-All feature a single readable UPC, EAN or ISBN barcode matching a single ASIN in Amazon’s catalogue
-Packaging must have a label with identifiers such as title, color, and model number in addition to the corresponding EAN, UPC or ISBN barcode
If you wish to avoid commingled inventory, ensure sure each of your goods has the right Amazon barcode. The Fulfilment Network Stock Keeping Unit (FNSKU) barcode is used by Amazon to identify, track, and link your FBA items back to you.
After you create an FBA shipping plan, Amazon will produce a FNSKU barcode for you. The label may then be printed and attached to your goods. If you don't want to handle these things yourself, you may sign up for Amazon's FBA Label Service and have them apply the labels for you for a price per item.
