As the Cyclospora outbreak spreads, it’s more important than ever to buy food locally or grow it yourself. We’re sharing how we found our local rancher and how you can too. One of the best decisions we made was switching to buying our meat from a local rancher instead of the grocery store. 👩🏾‍🌾

Well, this is awkward. I thought you only mulched your garden once when you first set it up. As you can see, mine was looking dry and brittle—kind of like damaged hair, lol. So I’m adding another layer before the Texas heat gets worse. Just like your hair needs moisture to grow, so does your garden. That’s exactly what mulch helps with. Mulch from

Saturdays are for the farmers market. I don’t make the rules I just follow them. We’ve been to the Belton Farmers Market a few times, but this was the first time we really explored beyond our pickup orders. There were so many local farmers and small businesses to check out. I started gardening in 2020 because we were all stuck at home, and can I tell you a little secret? This is the best my garden has ever looked. If I’m being honest, I’m still winging it and learning as I go. One thing that made a huge difference was fertilizing. For years, I thought gardening was just planting and watering. Turns out plants get hungry too.

You’re probably tired of hearing me talk about how cool it is to garden and harvest your own food. However, I’m not tired of it. There’s something special about planting a seed, caring for it, and finally harvesting it months later. People call gardening a granny hobby, but growing food is how people lived for generations. Honestly, I think that’s pretty cool.

Finally adding more herbs to this raised bed. I can’t be the only one constantly buying herb packs from the store. Every recipe calls for fresh herbs, and somehow one pack never lasts. As I said in the video, cilantro goes triple platinum in my house, so I need it growing in the garden to help support everyone’s salsa habit.
