Supporting Those Who Served – Weekly Veteran Organization Spotlight 🇺🇸☕

Each week, Freedom Claims Agency highlights an organization that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans, service members, and community heroes. This week, we are proud to spotlight a Wisconsin nonprofit that pairs a cup of coffee with community, connection, and life-saving peer support for those who served.

If you are a veteran or a family member, consider stopping in, connecting with a peer mentor, or joining a group to learn more about what Dryhootch offers. If you are a supporter, you can follow their pages, spread the word, attend events, or support their work so more veterans have a safe place to land and a strong community to lean on.

Dryhootch is a veteran-run nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans and their families navigate life after service by providing a safe, alcohol-free place to connect, share stories, and access peer-to-peer support. Through its coffeehouse model, Dryhootch creates welcoming spaces where veterans can drop in, grab a drink, and talk with peers who understand the challenges of transition, PTSD, addiction, and mental health struggles. Dryhootch offers peer mentoring, support groups, and family programming. It also provides links to resources addressing housing, benefits, employment, and wellness.

Dryhootch currently has two Wisconsin locations: one in Milwaukee and another in Madison. Both serve as “Forward Operating Bases” in the community, providing veterans and their families with a place to find camaraderie, support, and hope.

For all of you who may not know our son Michael passed way 13 years ago from a lung disease resulting from his time in Iraqi and Afghanistan and in his honor we donate 10% from the sales of Mikes lemon wine series…. Again this year our recipient with be Vets for Vets

This week, we are proud to spotlight a northeast Wisconsin nonprofit that puts miles on the road and real support on the ground for those who served.

If you are a veteran in northeast Wisconsin, following the Patriot Riders of America – WI Chapter 2 is a great way to stay connected with a group that is ready to help when life gets difficult. If you are a supporter, you can attend their events, share their mission, or contribute to their fundraisers so they can continue stepping up for local veterans and their families.

Patriot Riders of America – WI Chapter 2 mission is to help and support Wisconsin veterans and their families. Their chapter covers several counties in northeast Wisconsin and focuses on providing direct assistance to veterans facing hard times. Their efforts help fund housing and medical assistance, personal needs, and outreach to veterans in crisis or transition. The Patriot Riders work to ensure local veterans are not left to face those burdens alone.

The group raises money through rides, raffles, fundraisers, and community events, then channels that support back into the community through veteran “operations” and assistance programs. They also help keep veterans visible and honored in northeast Wisconsin, showing up with their bikes, flags, and presence as a reminder that our veterans are never forgotten.

His message of sacrifice, faith, and resilience is something you need to experience in person. You will not be disappointed by his story, his honor, and his heart for this country.

Our evening with retired Port Authority Police Officer, Will Jimeno, is fast approaching!

Join us on June 2nd for Sunrise Through the Darkness: An evening with Will Jimeno, presented by Steve & Karen Foster Family at the Swan Club in De Pere while Will recounts his 9/11 experience. As a first responder, Will put his life on the line for others who didn’t survive on September 11th, 2001. While his injuries, both physical and mental, still impact him almost 20 years later, Will has taken many positive lessons from his 9/11 experience.

Inside Wisconsin sports and podcast host, Trevor Ramseier, will be emceeing us for the evening.

All proceeds raised at this event will directly benefit Missions of Honor and our Veteran Community.

This week, we are proud to spotlight a Wisconsin nonprofit that offers veterans a weekend of camaraderie, gratitude, and world-class waterfowl hunting on one of North America's most storied marshes.

This week’s spotlight goes to: Horicon Marsh Veterans Hunt 🦆🦆

Horicon Marsh Veterans Hunt is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings together veterans. By offering a fully guided hunting weekend on and around the historic Horicon Marsh. Since 2008, the event has grown into one of the country's largest veterans’ hunts. Hosting about 80 veterans each year with the help of more than 55 volunteer guides and 50 additional volunteers.

Over the course of the weekend, veterans are treated to guided duck, goose, and upland-bird hunts. More importantly, they spend time with people who understand the meaning of service and sacrifice. Volunteers donate their time, boats, dogs, gear, and a lot of heart to ensure each veteran feels welcomed.
