It's the 12th Day of Christmas and the end of the holiday season in many households. In my home, we often leave the tree and lights up a little further into the dark months of winter, but January 6th is the day to put away the ornaments, stockings, wreaths, holiday cards, and Santa cookie jar. It's bittersweet, but the transition of seasons and decor helps me move into the New Year with a clean slate.
For many people, it can be stressful to decorate: sorting out the lights, finding where all the various boxes ended up, or dusting and de-gunking items that were not covered while in storage. For many of the same, it's just as stressful to put away the decorations at the end of the season, especially if you've added new items that won't fit in that closet. Why not give yourself one last gift this holiday season and take the time to organize your holiday storage space? I bet we can find a better solution than hiding the tree in the chimney!
