🏠 MMS COMMUNITY CARE FOUNDATION NEEDS A COMMUNITY HOME!

MMS Community Care Foundation, Inc. is seeking a generous community partner willing to donate or share space with our nonprofit in Kinston, North Carolina, for an initial six-month pilot.

The space would allow us to provide:

✅ Medicaid and benefits education
✅ Private assistance for seniors and families
✅ Caregiver workshops and support
✅ Community resource navigation
✅ Volunteer and workforce-readiness opportunities
✅ Partner office hours and outreach programs
✅ Community meetings and educational events

Ideally, we are seeking access two or three days per week to a private office, meeting or classroom area, restrooms, internet, and limited storage. We are flexible and willing to work around the facility’s existing schedule.

Churches, businesses, community organizations, property owners, and agencies with unused office, classroom, fellowship hall, or storefront space are encouraged to contact us.

This is more than a space donation—it is an opportunity to help create a trusted community resource for seniors, caregivers, veterans, and families throughout Eastern North Carolina.

Community partners will receive recognition as an official MMS Community Space Partner, along with written acknowledgment of their in-kind contribution.

📢 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED — HELP US REACH OUR COMMUNITY! 💚💙

Medicaid changes are coming, and MMS Community Care Foundation, Inc. is building a Community Outreach Volunteer Team to help individuals and families understand what the new Medicaid work requirements may mean for them.

We need caring, dependable people who want to make a difference throughout Eastern North Carolina.

🤝 Volunteers may help with:
• Community outreach and awareness
• Distributing educational materials
• Helping individuals understand available resources
• Connecting people to employment, training, and community services
• Supporting Medicaid educational events and workshops
• Helping us reach communities that may otherwise miss important information

No Medicaid experience is required. Training and materials will be provided.

This is a great opportunity for students, retirees, community advocates, future healthcare or social-service professionals, and anyone looking to gain meaningful community service experience.

Great Doctor 🕊

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Julius Mallette on August 7, 2026.

Dr. Mallette was a beloved member of the Kinston Health family who dedicated many years to caring for our patients and serving our community. Throughout his time with us—as an OB/GYN, Chief Medical Officer, and leader in Behavioral Health—he made a lasting difference through his compassion, knowledge, leadership, and dedication to those he served.

We are incredibly grateful for the years he gave to Kinston Health and for the many lives he touched along the way. His legacy of compassionate care will remain a meaningful part of our organization.

Our hearts are with his family, loved ones, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and remembered with great appreciation.
