"Anthropic announced a new equity fund it says could help address AI’s impact on workers, just two days after its own report showed the company has reduced its share of junior hires because of AI agents. But the details on who runs the fund and who gets paid are still murky.

What happened: Yesterday, Anthropic unveiled the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund—committing 5% of its shares (worth about $100 billion if it goes public at a $2 trillion valuation) pending stockholder approval, with an additional 2% for every 50% jump in the company’s value. Per Anthropic, the fund could give money to nonprofits or pay “specific populations” directly, and the company’s announcement singled out workers hit by AI. That’s notable, given what its own hiring data just revealed."

The Roadster 2 is a good stunt - but will it be a good car?
"Tesla’s Roadster 2 has finally been unveiled, and it’s a “flying” sci-fi fever dream of a car. The demo shows how far Tesla has come from the automaker we once knew—moving beyond just making cars, and instead becoming more of a futuristic tech company that combines AI, robotics, and now even aerospace engineering." Love some good news on a Monday morning!
"High sea temperatures driven by the climate crisis damage corals, bleaching them ghostly white and killing them. While restoration of dead reefs is possible, it's difficult and expensive, and restored corals are vulnerable to future heat waves. Finding ways to stop or slow the damage to existing reefs is crucial."

"But Sen. Elizabeth Warren is focused on what’s shrinking on Big Tech’s balance sheets: their share of corporate taxes. And she’s calling them on it.

In a video on X, she points to Amazon, which paid $7.8 billion less in tax last year.

“That’s right, they raked in higher profits, but paid $7.8 billion less in taxes than they did the year before,” Warren said.

Meta got tax relief of nearly $7 billion in 2025, paying $2.8 billion in federal tax compared to $9.6 billion in 2024."

Tech giants have gotten generous tax breaks just as programs like Social Security and SNAP are under strain.

"If the state of New Mexico has its way, Meta will have to pay up to $40 billion in penalties after a jury sided with the government in its lawsuit over the Cambridge Analytica scandal. According to Reuters, state authorities have asked a judge to order the company to pay between $35 billion and $40 billion. If you'll recall, New Mexico filed the lawsuit against Meta in 2021, accusing it of misleading its users about its data privacy practices. Cambridge Analytica, a British political data firm, harvested information from over 50 million Facebook profiles without consent for political ad campaigns."

New Mexico’s attorney argued that the penalties Meta has to pay need to be significant enough to make an impact on the company.

"According to an Oxford Economics study cited by Amazon, the company's U.S. carbon-free energy projects contributed nearly $11 billion to U.S. GDP from 2023 through 2025 and supported nearly 22,000 jobs annually through construction, operations and related economic activity." NOTE: This is published by Amazon News.

Amazon's solar, wind, nuclear, and battery storage investments drove economic growth across the U.S. from 2023 through 2025, per an Oxford Economics study.

"What’s a robotics company to do when it needs to decommission one of its androids? Give it a Hollywood ending, of course. Figure, a US startup that builds humanoid robots for both factories and homes, landed on an unusual way to dispose of models it no longer wants to maintain: Ship the robots to a terrifying-looking Finnish foundry and order them to leap into a 75-ton furnace of molten steel, in a scene straight out of an action movie."

Figure decommissioned its F.02 humanoid fleet by training the robots to leap into molten steel in Finland.
