Scam PSA for anyone who needs it -
This David Henderson character tried to run one of the more creative scams I've seen on the Facebook marketplace.
1. You drop a fabulous item on the Marketplace. Our main man Dave steps up, saying "I'll take it!" But, clever twist, he wants your email, not your payment link.
2. He "sends" the money. But, actually, he just sent an email to the address you just provided claiming he did, but wait - the money is frozen in some digital wonderland.
3. To release the funds, you have to upgrade your account by letting our man Dave send an additional $300! Then you just send it back to him, and p**f! he's gone with your actual cash.
Red Flags:
1. His email came from a gmail address.
2. The email looks like it's been typed out by a cat walking across the keyboard.
3. Our man Dave's photoshopping is sketchy.
4. The money is apparently untouchable, un-cancelable, and completely irreversible.
5. Just to spice things up, the email claims all transactions are watched by 'agents,' cyber-ninjas apparently sneaking around.
