Chattanooga Youth Pride, the 4th annual youth-centered Pride celebration hosted exclusively by Seed Theatre in Chattanooga. Since its founding, Seed Theatre has been a trailblazer for LGBTQ+ youth visibility and inclusion, intentionally creating spaces where young people could safely gather, express themselves, and be celebrated.

LIPSTICK LOUNGE ASKS FOR YOUR STORIES: Lipstick Day 2026 is almost here. This year to celebrate, we’re turning the focus to the amazing humans that make The Lipstick Lounge their space.

We’re looking for people who are willing to come on stage and share their favorite Lip story (we’ll have room for submissions from folks who can’t be there in person or don’t want to take the stage).

Aging with Pride East TN Resource Expo is brought to you by Aging Rainbow Coalition of East TN and the Society of East Tennessee. This event is the first of its kind in our area to provide resources to aging LGBTQ 55 yrs old and older community.

VISIT FIRESTORM BOOKS ASHEVILLE NC: I love walking into any place that has a rainbow flag outside the building, on their windows, or even in a cup on their counter. I visited Firestorm books 1022 Haywood Ave in Asheville NC in with the intention of writing about them but then Hurricane Helene damaged many Appalachian towns. I was unable to return nor write about this amazing bookstore. Now they need my help and I'm happy to give it. Learn about Firestorm books below, what they need and how we can help them.

Firestorm Books is a collectively owned radical bookstore and non-profit event space in Asheville North Carolina. They've been open since 2008 supporting Grassroots movements in Southern Appalachia while developing a workspace on the basis of cooperation, empowerment and equity.

Hurricane Helene put Firestorm in financial distress. Like other small businesses that were unable to be open due to lack of power, water, and other obstacles that go along with natural disasters. Add to that local cost of living increases, and a high mortgage have been a huge contributor.

They said "Our co-op will no longer have the resources needed for normal operations by the end of July....Our hope is a handful of short-term measures will buy us time for long-term shift in revenue."

SHORT TERM SOLUTIONS

*We're planning to modestly increase store hours.
*Refresh our Sustainers Program.
*Explore new advertising opportunities
* Better promote our bulk / B2B sales
*Research grants for unfunded work done by our members
*Look for new pop-up gigs.

MID-APRIL SALE "More immediately, we're planning a big sale for mid-April and we've requested and received a temporary reduction to our mortgage."

If they don't succeed, they will have to cut pay. Stating "As a horizontal co-op we set a payrate democratically, so no changes take place without buy-in from our whole team, but moving away from a living wage runs counter to our collective health."

Juggling, Fire Performers, Sword Tricks, Balloon, Animals, Clowns, Contortion
Stilts, Anything that could go with a carnival theme

NEW LGBTQ COMMUNITY COFFEE SHOP IN KNOXVILLE: Are we ready for a NEW Knoxville LGBTQ Community Coffee Shop? I am. Casey and Zoey Stone have been quietly working to start Stone's Throw LLC, Community Coffee Shop. Everything for the new coffee shop is in the works, from finalizing their remodeling plan to picking a logo. The location will be off of Chapman Hwy very close to Knoxville's Pride Center.

I asked the Stone's how our LGBTQ Community can help? So far, they need assistance paying for construction, electrical and plumbing to change a store front into a coffee shop. Later they said they'll need supplies, decorations and more.

After talking with Casey via messenger I'm impressed with the couple's vision. I love their Community-First Model, the re-imagined Coffee Shop/ gathering space and their enthusiasm. When talking about the GoFundMe Fundraiser Casey said "We have full confidence in this being a huge success no matter what folks are able to give."

In 2021, I supported South Press Cafe in a similar way, posting articles and updates. Our community was very generous then. I would love to see that kind of support for this Young Q***r Couple and their dream of rebuilding a LGBTQ Community Coffee Shop in South Knoxville.
