Alicia here! 👋 Today I have the opportunity to spend some time at Karns High School presenting our DARE to Prepare program, and this is truly one of my FAVORITE things I get to do! 💙

We talk about interview etiquette, first impressions, what employers are actually looking for, and some of the little things that can make a BIG difference when these students begin interviewing for jobs.

Their favorite part? Getting to become junior recruiters themselves and deciding the fate of the candidates during a live Zoom interview! 😂

Our favorite part? Seeing their reactions when they learn that, yes... employers CAN find their social media. 🫢😆

Over my 16 years in the industry, I've spent so much time on the employer side of the interview process. Being able to take what I've learned over the years and share it with students before they enter the workforce is something that's incredibly important to me.

If even one student walks into their next interview feeling a little more prepared and a lot more confident, then we've done something worthwhile.

Community involvement is incredibly important to us at Turner Recruiting & Consulting, and one of the ways we give back is by partnering with 865 Academies and our local high schools to provide students with real-world education and help prepare them for the workforce.

Today is about recognizing the people who have spent their lives showing up, working hard, and providing for their families. 🇺🇸

Work looks different for everyone. It's the person working with their hands all day, the employee picking up an extra shift, the parent working two jobs, or the business owner still working long after everyone else has gone home.

So today, I'm especially thankful for my own team, our clients, and all the hardworking people we've had the privilege of meeting along the way. 💙

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

What is doing EVERYTHING yourself actually costing you?

Alicia here with a little personal and raw post. 🩷

I will never willingly and happily just show off pictures of myself. You all see me every day. You know what I look like through every up and down and every increased or decreased pant size. 😂

But after running Turner Recruiting & Consulting for over four years now, it was time to update my profile and finally invest in a new branding session.

And if you ever find yourself needing one, trust LizzyLove Photography.

Liz is not only such a beautiful and sweet soul, she is incredibly talented at her craft. She makes you feel beyond comfortable, and trust me, by the end of the day you'll feel like you're besties.

But what stood out to me went far beyond her ability behind the camera. She listens.

Before our session, she sent me questions about myself, my business, and what mattered to me. I answered them and didn't think much about it afterward.

During our session, she stopped me and thanked ME for allowing her the opportunity to provide her services.

She had read my answers. Every. Single. Word.

She wasn't just there to take pretty pictures. She wanted to understand what I had built, why I built it, and what I wanted these photos to represent.

That meant more to me than she probably realized.

Because as business owners, we show up.

We chose this life, so we don't really get the option of not showing up when it gets hard.

And TRUST ME... IT GETS HARD. REAL FREAKING HARD SOMETIMES.

There are amazing seasons. There are terrifying seasons. There are days you're incredibly proud of what you've built, and days you wonder what in the world you were thinking. 😂

But through the thick of it, we keep showing up.

Turner Recruiting & Consulting means so much more to me than a business. It means taking care of our clients, building relationships with people who trust us with businesses they've poured their own hearts into, growing my team, supporting my family, and creating opportunities for others along the way.

Four years later, I'm still showing up. Still learning. Still growing. Still figuring some things out as I go. And still incredibly grateful that I get to do this.
