🇮🇹✈️ Our Recent Experience with Europe’s New Entry/Exit System (EES)

There has been a lot of conversation about Europe’s new Entry/Exit System (EES), with many travelers wondering if it will mean long lines and delays when arriving in Europe.

We arrived in Italy last Sunday and had the opportunity to experience the process firsthand.

The result? It was surprisingly smooth.

Despite a large number of passengers arriving at the same time, the automated machines were working efficiently, and the process moved quickly. From the moment we stepped off the plane, collected our luggage, and completed the new entry procedures, we were on our way in about 45 minutes.

Of course, every airport, arrival time, and travel day can be different, but our experience was very positive. The technology seemed to be working well, and airport staff kept the lines moving.

If you’re planning a European vacation and feeling a little nervous about the new procedures, don’t let it stop you from exploring the destinations you’ve been dreaming about. ❤️

✈️ Our local airport, McGhee Tyson (TYS), has been making headlines lately because of long TSA security lines. I’m happy to report that our experience this morning was the exact opposite!

We departed from TYS around 11:30 a.m., and as you can see from the photo, the airport was moving right along. There was no one ahead of us at the Delta counter, and we made it through security in about 10 minutes.

We do have TSA PreCheck, but the standard security line was moving just as smoothly, with only about 25 people waiting.

Just a friendly reminder that airport traffic can vary from day to day, but today was definitely easy peasy! ✈️😊
