We timed the Hot to Trot event this morning sponsored by Fleet Feet Knoxville. The event had over 3100 participants enjoying a fun workout before their Thanksgiving meal. We hope that each of you enjoyed the event and that you experiencing a great holiday with your family and friends.

We timed a rather unique race this past weekend in Morristown, TN. It was a 5K staged on the runway of the Morristown Regional Airport. This event was presented by the Stepping Out group in Morristown. Their mission is to create a pattern of positive behavior to help people achieve a better life. These folks do an awesome job with the event making it safe and fun for the participants, volunteers and visitors. We highly recommend this event if you are looking for a unique event. One highlight of the event was that they had Nick Morgan capturing pictures of the event. This guy is an artist with a camera. We enjoyed timing the Corryton Possum Race this past weekend. They had 5 state records in the 8 miler, 1 state record in the 4 miler, and 5 state records in the 2 miler. The Corryton Running Club does a great job with this event each year. Congratulations to Jerry Tipton on completing his 1000th race at the event.

TRS will time the Corryton 2mi/4mi/8mi event on October 26, 2024. This will be the 10th year that we have worked with the Corryton Running Club on this event. This year, is the first time that they will offer the 4mi distance as part of the event. All three distances will utilize a USATF certified course and each distance is eligible for a Tennessee state record. The event will be staged at the Corryton Community Center and the proceeds will benefit the Corryton Community Center and the Corryton Hospitality Food Pantry.

This year the event will have a special significance for one of the founding members of the Corryton Running Club. Jerry Tipton will be competing in his 1000th running event when he runs the 4mi distance. Jerry is a very dedicated runner and he won his age group in the Tennessee State Park Series this year in the 80 year old category. We invite all of Jerry's friends to come out and support him as he reaches this milestone.

We invite you to join us for the 8th annual Be a Beast 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk/Run on Saturday September 28, 2024.

Ann Higginbotham, a life-long educator in Campbell County and Middlesboro City Schools, passed away in September of 2016. Although she lost her fight with ovarian cancer, she was as resilient in sickness as she was in life. She was a BEAST! The proceeds of this run will benefit students from Campbell County High School and Anderson County High School (where her daughter spent 18 years as an educator). All monies raised will go toward the Ann Higginbotham Memorial Scholarship Fund.

This event will also offer the community ovarian cancer awareness. Ovarian cancer is a silent killer and is often not detected until the latter stages.

On Site Registration and Packet Pick up 7:00 am to 8:15 am.

The 5K race will start at 8:30 am.

The walk will be out a half mile and back. It will begin at approximately 8:35 am after the 5K race starts at 8:30 am.

The run will begin at Anderson County High School in the parking lot facing Charles G. Seivers Boulevard, near the library. It will run up Charles G. Seivers Boulevard toward Clinton Physical Therapy Center; resulting in an up and down course. You will run 1.5 miles, turn around, and end in the parking area where you started. This course is challenging, in fact, it’s a BEAST.

Total Race Solutions recently added some new state of the art rfid readers to our equipment inventory. These new AeroTrack readers are extremely mobile and give our timers the ability to capture timing data and utilize android technology to stream that data to our server. We will utilize these devices for our smaller events and as a backup for our pro controllers at larger events.

TRS timed the Firecracker 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk this morning at the Deerfield Resort Complex in LaFollette, TN. Proceeds from the event benefit Campbell County Schools. Deerfield is a beautiful community that includes a marina, golf course and many scenic vistas a few mile from LaFollette. This event has a flyover as the runners are staged for the start of the race by some of the local pilots. The event is well planned and executed by residents of the Deerfield community. We encourage you to consider adding this event to your running calendar-it is a jewel.
