COLD & FLU SEASON IS HERE 🤧
And if your little one gets sick, you may wonder… “Should I keep breastfeeding?”
In most cases, yes. 💕
Breast milk provides more than nutrition. It contains antibodies and other immune factors that can help support your baby’s developing immune system. And when baby is sick, breastfeeding can provide fluids, nutrition, and comfort too.
If YOU are the one who is sick, you can usually continue breastfeeding too. For illnesses like the flu, the virus is not transmitted through breast milk, although you should take precautions to reduce respiratory spread—like washing your hands and practicing good cough etiquette.
So when everyone in the house is feeling under the weather…
🤎 Keep offering the breast.
🤎 Keep baby hydrated.
🤎 Keep yourself hydrated and rested when you can.
🤎 And don’t panic if feeding looks a little different while baby is sick.
Sometimes that familiar milk, those cuddles, and that extra comfort are exactly what your little one needs. 🥹🤎
Breast milk isn’t a cure for illness, but it is an incredible source of nutrition, hydration, comfort, and immune support.
Save this for cold & flu season and share it with a breastfeeding mama!
