Windows 11 is the current application from Microsoft. Last month, the company has issued an article regarding some new updates for the application.
Microsoft is currently in the progress of releasing an updated version of Windows 11, version 26H1. The new version should support some new device innovations that are being released this year. However, devices running this new version will not be able to update to the next annual feature update for the second half of the year.

There are two notable new features with this update; a change for the Start Menu and Windows Search.
• Improvements for the Start menu include:
• Renaming the “recommended” section to “recent”
• Section-level toggles to independently show/hide tabs
• The choice between a small or large Start Menu
• The option for the user to hide their name and profile picture
• A redesigned settings page
As for Windows Search, the company is primarily updating how results will be shared. Clients can now search by a substring; files with compound names will be easier to find.

For more information, feel free to read the official article from Microsoft’s blog.

For soccer fans, the FIFA World Cup is around the corner, beginning next month. Some fans may even plan to watch the games live at the stadium. However, to anyone who is planning such a big trip, be wary when looking to buy tickets; there are so many fraudulent domains by cybercriminals impersonating the official FIFA website.

There are more than 4300 fraudulent websites out there attempting these schemes! According to an analysis from Group-IB, these activities span from six different forms of fraud and four independent threat actors that are working the event.
The prime suspect of this shady operation is likely to be Ghost Stadium, a Chinese-speaking and profit driven threat actor that runs more than 300 phishing domains.
The fake websites look authentic because the cybercriminals use official logos and product images, and AI tools only them to look more legitimate. In other cases, the fake websites post ads on social media platforms, like Facebook, to direct victims towards these fraudulent websites.

Looking to buy tickets? Your safest bet is to buy only through the official website. Check the domain name and for any grammar errors, or a lack of reviews, to ensure that the website is legitimate.
Stay safe while online, and beware of fraudulent websites and cyber criminals.

Many computer users out there have Microsoft programs on their devices. Recently, Microsoft has published a handful of security updates that were designed to fix 120 CVEs. About 16 of these security updates were discovered by a new multi-model agentic security system.
About 14 of these critical vulnerabilities were classed as remote code ex*****on (RCE), two were elevation of privilege (EoP) flaws, and one was an information disclosure vulnerability.
As Microsoft published the security updates, tech experts from outside the company advise Microsoft users to regularly update their computers and cybersecurity measures, to fully ensure that their devices stay safe from hackers.

Banking and crypto safeguards are specifically designed to confirm the identity of an account owner, if they are real, and if their face matches the identity documented in the account. Unfortunately, it is easy for scammers to bypass them. Scammers can open mule accounts and launder money, or just steal the victim’s money and drain their account.
While banks and cybersecurity businesses continue to enhance these safeguards, hackers continue to look for ways around defenses. Some online marketplaces are even designed by cybercriminals to proliferate exploits and share tools or leaked information with other likeminded criminals.
Chainalysis is a US blockchain analysis firm that has shared some estimates from the last two years. In 2025, about $17 billion was stolen in crypto scams and fraud, while about $13 billion was stolen in 2024. A majority of these scammers are from syndicates placed in Africa and Asia.
We can keep updating our defenses, but that will just make cybercriminals more determined than before. We must regularly update our cybersecurity and monitor our account activities to stay one step ahead of them.

Cyber criminals never stop their despicable antics. We should always keep our devices and our accounts safe and secure to deny access to unwanted guests.
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) states that among bad metrics that show cyberattack statistics, the only SOC metric that matters is if security measures can detect an attack in a timely manner; how long it takes until it detects the attack and how fast it can respond to the attack to minimize damage.

The NCSC’s CTO for architecture, Dave Chimson, has shared a few pointers on his blog for boosting threat detection.
• Hypothesis-led hunting- analysts can hypothesize likely attacks based on threat actors and their techniques
• Maximal true positives and minimal false positives- maintain a hard threshold for false positive rates to evaluate if a detection rule is suitable or not
• Tracking analyst expertise-can be done with training and certifications for employees
• Tracking SOC engagement-spot and flag any suspicious activities
• Analyst job satisfaction-educate yourself and others about how attacks operate and what options there are if one happens
• Log coverage-track percentages and assets among work activities to see if anything is out of the ordinary

Ensure the safety of your devices and systems! All it takes is one small window of opportunity for a hacker to gain access to the system and ruin everything…
In most cases, we secure our accounts and devices by setting up a password. However, in the present day, passwords may not be as secure as they used to be.

Picture this; one of your employees receives a message linking to what appears to be a legitimate login page. The branding looks right and the process is the same. The employee is prompted to enter their username and password, so they can supposedly log into their account.
However, in reality, a cyber criminal has just swindled the victim into handing over their login credentials. The hacker now has access to the system, thanks to the provided information.

Passwords are a simple line of defense, but they are not strong enough alone. Once a cyber criminal has the credentials, they can easily change it while they take over the account, locking the victim out of their account and the system.
Yet, passwords remain in use because of how familiar and easy they are to all of us. With that said, we should consider updating our passwords in a timely basis, and some accounts we should enable multi-factor authentication.
If we ever receive a message that appears to talk about our accounts from the company, we should still check for any red flags that it is fake. Cybercriminals are abusing AI programs to pass off as more legitimate when they send these messages. Check the sender address and grammar of the message, and avoid clicking on any links or attachments.
