Let’s talk invoicing.

Because getting paid should not feel like a scavenger hunt. 😅

If you’re still sending invoices manually, tracking payments in your head, or digging through your bank account trying to figure out who paid & who didn’t, it may be time to get a more supportive system in place.

A good invoicing tool can help you:

🌼Send professional invoices
🌼Track what’s been paid
🌼Follow up on overdue balances
🌼Keep client payment history organized
🌼Make your bookkeeping cleaner
🌼Understand your cash flow more clearly

A few popular options for small businesses & solopreneurs include QuickBooks Online, Xero (my fave!), FreshBooks, Wave & other invoicing tools depending on your needs.

Now, my bookkeeper brain will always tell you this:

‼️Don’t just choose the tool that looks the prettiest.

🎯Choose the tool that supports the way your business actually operates.

→ Do you need recurring invoices?
→ Payment reminders?
→ Sales tax tracking?
→ Multiple income streams?
→ Integration with your bookkeeping software?
→ Clean reporting?

Those details make all the difference.

Because the right invoicing system does not just help you get paid.

✨It helps you understand your money with more clarity and confidence.

If you’re not sure what invoicing or bookkeeping system makes sense for your business, send me a message. I can help you think through whether you need full bookkeeping support or a DIY setup you can confidently manage yourself.

A coach who can see everyone else’s patterns still has to examine her own.

Because the gifts of intuition and being able to read someone don’t automatically put you in the clean leadership category.

Someone can be intuitive, wise, powerful, and deeply gifted…

and still be operating through fear, defensiveness, scarcity, projection, or unresolved wounds.

That is where the danger is.

Because when the leader of the container cannot hold herself, she cannot fully hold the room.

This is why deep work requires humility.

It requires self-awareness.

It requires emotional responsibility.

It requires the willingness to pause and ask:

“Am I leading from clarity, or am I reacting from protection?”

Emotional intensity can feel like transformation.

The tears.

The breakthrough.

The big realization.

The moment someone says, “Oh my God, I see it now.”

All of that can be powerful.

But intensity still requires integration.

Because sometimes tears mean release.

Sometimes they mean healing has started.

Sometimes they mean something tender has finally moved.

And sometimes tears mean someone has been exposed.

If a deep coaching session opens something vulnerable, there needs to be grounding, clarity, follow-up, support, and a pathway for what happens next.

A powerful moment is not the finish line.

Depth without structure is not safe.

If your business finances feel messy, please know this...

You're not the only one!

A lot of business owners get behind on their books, mix personal and business expenses, forget to categorize transactions, or avoid looking at their numbers altogether because it feels like too much.

But messy does not mean hopeless.

It just means we need to bring some structure back in.

Here’s where I would start:

1. Make sure your business bank & credit card accounts are connected and up to date.

You can’t make clean decisions with incomplete information.

2. Review anything uncategorized, duplicated, or clearly incorrect.

Your reports are only as helpful as the data behind them.

3. Separate personal and business expenses moving forward.

If personal transactions already happened in the business account, they can be cleaned up, but the goal is to stop adding more confusion.

4. Look at your reports with fresh eyes.

Scan for categories that look strange, expenses that seem too high, missing income, or anything that doesn’t match what actually happened in your business.

You're not going for perfect, you're going for clarity.

Because once your numbers are clean, you can finally start understanding what your business is trying to tell you.

And if this made you think, “Yep, this is exactly where I am,” send me a message. I can help you clean it up, keep it clean, or teach you how to manage it yourself with more confidence.

Opening someone up comes with responsibility.

If you are guiding people into deep, vulnerable, trauma-adjacent, emotional, or transformational work, you are not just creating a powerful moment.

You are touching someone’s trust.

You are touching their nervous system.

You are touching stories they may have never said out loud before.

And if someone opens in your presence, that trust deserves care.

This does not mean a coach is responsible for healing every wound a client has ever carried.

But it does mean that if you are going to guide people into vulnerable places, you need to know what happens after they get there.

Depth without structure is not safe.

Profit is not just money you made.

🪴It’s a resource.

And when you use it intentionally, it can help you strengthen the foundation of your business and create more room for growth.

But here’s where a lot of business owners get tripped up...

They see profit and immediately think, “Great, I can spend more.”

Or they see profit and think, “Cool, I should hold onto every penny because what if something goes wrong?”

Neither one is automatically wrong, but your numbers should be helping you make that decision with clarity.

Depending on where your business is right now, your profit may need to go toward:

💸Paying down business debt
💸Upgrading tools or software
💸Investing in marketing
💸Expanding your own education or skill set
💸Hiring or outsourcing support
💸Saving for taxes
💸Building a cash reserve

DO NOT reinvest just because someone on the internet told you to.

DO aim to understand what your business actually needs next.

That’s why clean, accurate financials matter so much. When your books are up to date, you can see whether your business is stable enough to invest, where your money is flowing, and what kind of reinvestment will actually support your next level.

You worked hard for that profit.

Let’s make sure it has a purpose.

✨It's all about Profit Purpose, babe! (Your money should always have a purpose attached to it.)

If you want a second set of eyes on your numbers, or you’re ready for support understanding where your money should go next, send me a message.

Budgeting does not have to be painful, but it does need to be connected to reality. (this 3D plane we're spending so much time in... sorry!) 😅

A lot of business owners create a budget once, maybe in a spreadsheet, maybe in their head, and then never look at it again.

And that’s why budgeting feels useless.

PSA: A budget isn't supposed to be a rigid rulebook that makes you feel bad.

It’s supposed to be a guide.

It helps you see where your money's going, where you may be overspending, and whether your current financial choices actually support the business you’re trying to build.

Here are 3 ways to manage your business budget better:

1. Use bookkeeping software that lets you track your budget against your actual numbers.

Xero & QuickBooks Online both allow you to compare what you planned to spend with what actually happened.

2. Keep your business accounts connected and up to date.

When your bank & credit card accounts are connected properly, your transactions can flow into your bookkeeping system more consistently, which makes it easier to stay current.

3. Review your Budget vs. Actual reports regularly.

This is where the magic happens. You get to see whether your spending is aligned, whether something needs to shift, and where your business may need a little more attention.

DON'T shame yourself over every dollar.

The goal here is to build awareness, make better decisions, and create a business that is financially sustainable.

If budgeting has felt confusing, overwhelming, or disconnected from the way you actually run your business, send me a message. This is exactly the kind of thing I help business owners understand through bookkeeping support & DIY financial guidance.

Toxic coaching does not always sound obviously harmful.

Sometimes it sounds conscious.
Sometimes it uses the language of nervous system safety, sisterhood, integrity, emotional responsibility, sacred space, and transformation.

And sometimes the very people calling out toxic coaching are recreating harm inside their own containers.

That is why this conversation matters.

Because being able to open someone up does not mean you know how to hold them.

If you are leading people into deep transformational work, your container needs more than beautiful language and good intentions.

It needs structure.
It needs scope.
It needs consent.
It needs integration.
It needs repair.

Please, with love...

Stop using your personal bank account for business. 😅

I know it can feel harmless in the beginning, especially when you’re just getting started, testing an idea, or bringing in a little bit of income here and there.

But mixing your personal and business money makes everything harder than it needs to be.

It makes bookkeeping messier.

It makes tax time more stressful.

It makes it harder to see whether your business is actually profitable.

And it can blur the line between “I made money” and “my business has money.”

A separate business bank account gives your business a clean financial home.

It helps you track income, expenses, cash flow, and profit more clearly. It also makes it so much easier to understand the story your numbers are telling you.

A few business banking options you may want to look into are Relay, Chase, Novo, Bluevine, and American Express. The right fit will depend on your business, your needs, and how you like to manage your money.

And if you already have a business account you love, drop it in the comments. Your recommendation may help another entrepreneur take this very important step.

What if the money fight was never really about money?

One of the biggest hidden causes of relationship tension around entrepreneurship is that two people can be looking at the exact same decision through completely different lenses.

One person sees risk.
The other sees freedom.

One person is trying to create safety.
The other is trying to create expansion.

And both people think they’re being responsible.

In this week’s blog, I’m unpacking the deeper differences between employee and entrepreneur mindsets, especially around money, time, freedom, structure, risk, and safety.

Because sometimes you’re not actually fighting each other…

You’re fighting each other’s conditioning.
