📚🚂 **Our next Book & Slide Auction is now posted — with more than 1,000 lots!**

This sale features a huge selection of railroad books, publications, and 35mm slides covering railroading from across the country and across the decades.

The book selection includes steam and diesel locomotives, railroad histories, equipment and operations, traction and interurbans, regional history, and much more. You'll find material covering Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, Santa Fe, Pennsylvania Railroad, New York Central, Norfolk & Western, and plenty of smaller and regional roads as well.

📸 We've also loaded up another selection of railroad 35mm slides featuring locomotives, trains, equipment, and railroad operations from a variety of locations and eras.

**A quick note about the catalog:** With more than 1,000 lots, we know some descriptions are incomplete or more abbreviated than we would like. We're continuing to refine our cataloging process for books and slides, but rather than delay the auction further, we wanted to get it posted and give everyone plenty of time to browse.

Be sure to look through all of the photos—they're an important part of each lot description and often contain additional information about titles, subjects, contents, and condition.

Take a look through the catalog, find a few favorites, and get those bids in!

Highlights include a core selection from the Wimmer Collection, our incredible selection of whistles from our Sound it and Sell it! program, original art work from Howard Fogg and Tony Fachet, and much more.

Bidding is open now with auction dates of October 7-9th.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has written in or commented over the last few weeks on our announcement about the new building. It means a great deal to me to have your support as we embark on this next phase of Rail & Road.

There are some big things coming in the months ahead and I'm so happy we get to share them with the railroad and transportation collecting community.

Today marks one of the biggest milestones in the history of Rail & Road Auctions.

After many months of planning and work behind the scenes, we officially closed on nearly 3.5 acres of land on the south side of Lafayette that will become the permanent home of Rail & Road Auctions.

When I started this company six years ago, I never imagined we would one day need a facility of this size or have the opportunity to build one from the ground up. It's a little humbling to stop and think about just how far we've come.

None of this would have been possible without our incredible consignors, bidders, and supporters. Every item you've trusted us to sell, every bid you've placed, and every recommendation you've made has helped build Rail & Road Auctions into what it is today. For that, I am truly grateful.

Our goal has always been simple: serve our buyers and sellers well, treat people fairly, and continue preserving the history behind the items we sell. This new facility is an investment in that mission and in the future of our company.

The real work begins now as we start designing and constructing our new building, and we'll be sharing the journey with you every step of the way. We can't wait to welcome you to our new home.

And because several of you will ask...

Yes... we bought a caboose! 🚂

Conrail N5c Caboose No. 23037 will eventually become a permanent fixture at our new facility, greeting visitors as they arrive. It seemed like the perfect way to celebrate this next chapter.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in us over these past six years. This milestone belongs to all of us, and I can't wait to show you what's next.
