Three questions to ask before your organization spends another dollar on AI tools:

Can anyone in the room draw your current workflow on a whiteboard without checking documentation?
When you automate a process that three different people do three different ways, which version are you automating?
Who's going to lose time to the disruption, and how are you protecting their bandwidth during the transition?

If you can't answer all three, you don't have an AI readiness problem yet. You have a process clarity problem.
