When personal or financial information may have been compromised, knowing what to do next can help you act quickly.
Some of the first steps to consider include:

2. Contact affected banks, credit card companies or financial institutions
3. Change compromised passwords and strengthen account security
4. Consider placing a credit freeze with each of the three major credit bureaus
5. Review your credit reports for accounts or activity you don't recognize
6. Visit IdentityTheft.gov for additional guidance and reporting resources
And don't overlook your investment accounts.
