You’ll invest in the top of the line stroller and car seat. The fanciest baby carrier. A personal trainer to “lose the baby weight”.

But your mind and your relationships deserve preparation, too.

Having a baby is a HUGE life transition. It can challenge your identity, your partnership, your expectations, your coping skills, and your mental health.

Mental health support is preventative care.

So yes, keep preparing your body to have a baby, but prepare your mind and your support system, too, please!

Postpartum is not the time to realize you needed a village. In a crisis is not the time to Google “best therapist near me” and have a 4 hour to phone call with insurance to see who’s covered in network. Build it before you need it. You’re mental health MATTERS.
