Look, everybody. People keep asking me every day, who do we use for our insurance? This is the gentleman I use. He can help finance it. And his rates are about. 50% cheaper than. Geico or Progressive?

If you truly want to save money for your company, please contact him. This is all I can say. He is a wonderful man. And he works hard every day. He can even help you with your safety scores.

Before trusting a dispatch service or operating under another carrier’s MC authority, verify exactly who you are doing business with.

There are many unauthorized dispatch operations, including overseas companies, that aggressively solicit carriers and owner operators. Their business model often focuses on volume, meaning the goal is to sign as many trucks as possible, rather than protect your profitability.

Protect your business:

• Verify that the person offering access to an MC is the legitimate owner or authorized representative of that motor carrier.

• Confirm the MC and USDOT information directly through FMCSA records.

• Ask who controls the carrier authority, insurance, rate confirmations, and broker relationships.

• Never send money or sensitive documents until you verify the company.

• Make sure your dispatcher understands your operating costs, minimum rate per mile, preferred lanes, fuel costs, and profit goals.

A good dispatch relationship should focus on your business, your truck, and your profitability. Keeping a truck moving means little if the loads do not produce a reasonable return.

Know who you are working with. Verify the authority. Protect your money. Protect your business.
