There is an ever growing number of citizens in our community who are deeply concerned with how the City, and resulting outside areas, are financially impacted by poor management and fiscal irresponsibility. The Tehachapi City Council has demonstrated countless times that if you are at a meeting with a concern or negative comment, the gavel slams at exactly 3 minutes and your position is dismissed

as mere noise in the background. The City and Council can easily spend your tax dollars on non-essential activities but will quickly extend their hand for more funding for critical services or infrastructure. This is not healthy Government. Fun activities are fine but only after the bills have been paid. Lets exposure the hard issues and direct our elected or appointed officials to correct the wrongs.

JUST RECEIVED FROM A Tehachapi Action READER:

In opposing a new tax/bond proposed by TVRPD, it has been brought to my attention that TVHD(hospital district) who donated $25,000 to help fund TVRPD business plan (for the water park) has "grant money" set aside waiting and for applications (from those seeking money from them). Since 2016, Tehachapi Valley Adventist has been running the hospital and the clinics. So my question is what does TVHD do and why are they still funded by the local taxpayer?

Transparency and Accountability in Government: New Tax/Bond proposal by TVRPD
I think we should call Michelle's new tax proposal the Zack Tax, in honor of her mentor and previous employer. Is it fair that Bear Valley and Stallion Springs will be exempt from this new tax? Don't forget the City of Tehachapi who has two appointees on TVRPD Board, they donated $15,000 to move this tax forward. Also let's not forget the $25,000 from Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District to help move this new tax forward. Did you know the other three board members on TVRPD are appointed by our county supervisors. I thought the residents owned the district. What say you TVRPD taxpayers?

Have you ever gone to a timeshare presentation for the free goodies and end up buying something you don't really want. That's how the Tax/bond proposal from TVRPD is being marketed. The company TVRPD hired does more than just polling. They are specialist at marketing taxes/bonds. When they tell you your buying Filet Mignon but it smells like fish, it's fish.
