Mercy in Action Disaster Resources

Mercy in Action Disaster Resources Mercy in Action Disaster Resources provides training to church volunteers to work in disaster areas, and provides disaster management services to churches.

Mercy in Action Disaster Resources seeks to enable congregations and volunteers to share the love Jesus Christ in meaningful and tangible ways by becoming directly involved in disaster response within their communities. We see many examples in scripture of Jesus reaching out to those in need. As He loved us, so we love and serve one another. Mercy in Action Disaster Resources seeks to assist LCMS

Disaster Response, the Districts and congregations of the LCMS, and volunteers with preparing for and managing disasters, by providing training, planning, and disaster management assistance.

As more LERT Teams get "heavy equipment" it is becoming more important to have a set of consistent hand signals so the equipment operator and team members can non-verbally communicate without compromising safety. This simple set of 9 signals is adapted from standardized hand signals used in construction. They are easy to learn.

This is why the back cut should always be level. An angled back cut shifts weight and force pressure onto the hinge, and can cause failure of the hinge. Also, the rope was not tensioned, making it useless.
