Tech tip: Connecting your phone to a Windows 11 PC using the Phone Link app is a great way to sync your devices and manage your phone’s notifications, messages, and calls directly from your computer. It’s available for Android as well as iOS users.

Here’s how you can set it up for an iPhone:
1. Update Your Apps: Ensure that both the Phone Link app on your Windows 11 PC and the Link to Windows app on your iPhone are up to date.
2. Open Phone Link on PC: Launch the Phone Link app on your Windows 11 PC and select the option for iPhone. Find it by typing “phone link” in the Windows search bar, then click on the icon, or select “Open”.
3. Open the Link to Windows app on your iPhone and scan the QR code displayed on your PC screen.
4. Pair Devices: Follow the prompts to pair your devices via Bluetooth. Make sure to enable the necessary permissions on your iPhone.
5. If you’re having trouble, check Windows Settings. Ensure “Phone Link” is enabled in Bluetooth & devices – Mobile devices.

Once connected, you can view notifications, make and receive calls, and send and receive messages directly from your PC.

Did you know that you can use the Microsoft OneDrive app to scan documents directly from your mobile device and save them as PDFs? It is a very useful tool that eliminates the need for an additional scanning machine. You can organize scanned files in OneDrive folders, edit scanned files, and easily share documents via email or with others. Give it a try! At the end of January, there was a shocking discovery of a massive data breach that affected many popular services, including X (Twitter), Dropbox, LinkedIn, Adobe, Canva, and Evite. This breach has become known as the “Mother of All Breaches”, involving a massive collection of 26 billion records, or 12 terabytes, of leaked user information.

Every data breach poses significant threats to individuals and businesses alike. Cybercriminals can use this leaked data to initiate various attacks, including identity theft, phishing scams, and credential stuffing attacks.

I advise all my friends and clients to check if their information has been leaked, especially if you have an account with one of the listed services that were affected. If compromised, update your account with a unique, strong password, and enable multi-factor authentication to prevent anyone from trying to log in with stolen credentials. Do not re-use passwords! Sharing passwords across accounts greatly increases your risk. What happens with credential stuffing is that hackers take that stolen information related to one site or system, and use it in a brute force hacking attempt to try to get into various other systems. It is advised to use unique passwords for every account. Manage your passwords using a browser-based password manager or encrypted document.

How to get rid of ads in Windows Search -
I frequently use the Windows Search function. It’s a very efficient tool to quickly find applications, documents, and online resources. However, in Windows 11, the Search box displays advertisements and a list of trending searches by default. I do not appreciate that, as I find these recommendations distracting and not aligning with my interests at all! The good news is these ads can quickly be removed and the Search box be customized to look more professional.

To set up a personalized and productive Search function experience in Windows 11, simply follow the steps here:
Go to Settings.
Select Privacy & Security.
Select Search permissions.
Under Search permissions, disable the option “Show search highlights”.

To solve a problem in business, you establish a system. What is a system?

A system is a combination of many parts:
(1) Process - The workflow, the actions you take to execute a task.
(2) People - The people involved in the process. The stakeholders that need to communicate to execute a process.
(3) Information / Data - The information available and required to execute a process. Information stored in digital format is called data.
(4) The Technology Product, the Software Application that helps bring it all together.

Systems help businesses reduce frustration and inefficiencies, and GOOD systems enable them to innovate and grow!
