Seeking recommendations: Are you aware of any Christian ministry incubators or organizations that provide funding and support for ministry start-ups? I'm currently consulting with a budding ministry venture and believe wholeheartedly in their people and unique strategy. I'm eager to help them succeed and would greatly appreciate any suggestions or connections in this space. Thank you!

Recently, I have been listening to "Guidelines" with Andrew Robinson. It is a good podcast with great insights into building a consulting/coaching business.

Andrew's challenge to precisely articulate our values has prompted introspection on what drives both myself and Equivice (Equipping to Serve). Consequently, I've been actively engaged in deepening the core values that not only guide our work at Equivice but also define my personal ethos.

One value that has been a pursuit of my heart is Love. Yet, I've often hesitated to fully embrace it in my professional discourse because of its perceived ambiguity and sentimentality. However, upon closer examination, I've realized that love encompasses profound principles that resonate deeply with what I want to be the core of my approach.

For me, Love manifests in three key aspects:

1️⃣ Presence or "With": This speaks to the importance of being fully present and engaged with those we serve. It's about creating an authentic connection and empathy where individuals feel genuinely heard and understood.

2️⃣ Extending Dignity: Recognizing every individual's inherent worth and dignity, regardless of background or circumstance. It's about honoring the unique image of God in each person and treating them with the utmost respect and reverence.

3️⃣ Sacrificing for the Best of Others: Modeled after the profound love demonstrated by Jesus, this entails a willingness to serve others for their ultimate well-being and growth, even if it means sacrifice. It's about putting the needs and interests of others above our own, with a selfless dedication to their flourishing.

While foundational to my work and life, these aspects of love are also aspirational. I acknowledge that I fall short of embodying them every day. Despite the inevitable challenges and setbacks, I remain steadfast in my commitment to live out love in my consulting practice.

What value do you want to be driven by that is hard to express in your work environment?

I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share this journey with you all, and I look forward to continuing to serve and support you on your path to growth and fulfillment.

Ministry Facilitation Principles from Acts 15

“When they finished, James spoke up. “Brothers,” he said, “listen to me. 14 Simon[a] has described to us how God first intervened to choose a people for his name from the Gentiles. 15 The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written…” Acts 15:13-14

It is leadership’s responsibility to ensure any recommendation or decision coming out of group process aligns with God’s word and how God is working in the ministry.
