We have some offices billing for nightguard assuming it will be paid by the insurance because the plan states it’s covered at __% .. however, one thing you must know is that not all insurances will pay for a nightguard for bruxism or grinding. Some will only pay if it’s following an osseus surgery (surgery related to gum disease). This surgery is used by periodontists to treat severe periodontitis. So please make sure you’re asking the insurance rep the right questions regarding night guards.
