If we look into the 1960-70 numerous operations prowled the country to liberate it's next great gem, discoveries were made regularly by often rough and tumble crews of crystal miners. Today very few miners are able to make a living and keep up with ever growing government restrictions that cripple small mines. Unless we grab hold of what we have and fight tooth and nail for every deposit, we can be sure that in 100 years American mineral production will be just another mining legend of days gone by. This is what gives me "the fear"
